Just Should Have Been Honest - Cost me Thousands
Saw Dr. Neil Dunleavy (OPTUM) for an on the job injury I had suffered, torn rotator cuffs, an injury common for many in my line of work. From the get-go, Dunleavy tried to discourage it being pursued as a rightful Workers' Comp case, saying things like, 'they'll never accept this. I know from experience...' (I'm paraphrasing, as I do not recall verbatim the exact verbiage used, but that was the gist of it. I was wondering why he was so down on my right as a worker to place the blame where it lay. He wanted to rush me into a surgery that he would do, offering me no other options. I later found out that in his report to the people that handle Workers' Comp he never mentioned the accident that I had reported to two foremen at the time of incident, claimed I said I had been suffering with it for at least two years, possibly more, and that he offered non-surgical alt. He was deceitful and he torpedoed the case. When I asked why a dr would do this, I was told many don't want 2 work w/WC.

I went to the Yorktown surgery center. Dr. Dunleavy and the staff were fantastic. The only thing that was upsetting was 2 flat tires when we got out after surgery.

The doctor was great! His staff, not the greatest. Had to wait several days for a MRI and his staff was dishonest blaming my insurance, turns out the office had a fill in, they should have just come clean. The MRI dept. hadn't even started the paperwork with my insurance company. Then it was going to take another 7 days; shame on them! I will go else where for the MRI. No thanks!

I took my mother to Dr. Dunleavy for a second opinion for a TKR. He was very friendly, took his time explaining things. Would not hesitate to go back to him or refer someone to him.
