Dr. Neepa Patel, MD

I have seen a lot of neurologists for cervical dystonia. Dr. Patel is above them all. So much so that I travel from Florida to see her (and Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville is only 50' minutes away from my home). I found Dr. Patel when I was researching neurologists who were experienced with cervical dystonia and, ideally, active in ongoing research with the Dystonia Research Foundation. I was so happy to have found someone who qualified! In addition, and more importantly than anything, she is intelligent, experienced and kind. She was even involved in research with Daxxify before it became FDA approved. No, she doesn't walk on water and she isn't perfect. However, she is always 'present' at my appointments, is excellent at explaining things, patient with my questions (even the dumb ones - per my spouse!). I will continue to see Dr. Patel even though we haven't found any solutions yet. I feel confident that I am getting the best, knowledgeable care.

Dr. Patel and her staff are great -- she is clearly a highly accomplished doctor, and I was never rushed or made to feel that my questions and concerns were unimportant. I recommend her and the motion disorder clinic all the time.

Dr. Neepa Patel is an outstanding physician and neurologist . She Is a gifted clinician and is extremely bright. She approaches her patients with alacrity, Skill and compassion. Dr. Neepa Patel is aware of the fear, depression, anxiety and overall disruption of life that a neurological diagnosis can potentially cause. I am very lucky to have her as one of my physicians. Dr. Patel is throughout in her examination, however is not a good listener. She did not take ample time with the patient to answer questions or recommendations (less than 10 mins). While I trust she has a detailed training and research, she does not have people skills. Broadcasting just how busy she is and offhandedly stating she did not have time to go on with her patients is less than professional. Disappointing for Henry Ford System doctors.

Dr. Patel is amazing! After seeing 8 neurologists and many other doctors, dr Patel finally diagnosed my condition. Thanks to her I have my life back and can't say enough about her. She is caring and thorough.

Dr. Patel is beyond amazing. Not only is she an excellent neurologist, but her holistic approach to the patient and her ability to truly read the patient and listen to the patient is incredible. I have Parkinson's and she game me my life back. But this week I learned she is leaving UTSW to return to Michigan. That is our loss.
