Arrogant and dismissive, even took a phone call and walked out of my consultation. I have a mild variant of polyposis which can be managed with frequent colonoscopies. After one colonoscopy I was told I had numerous polyps; one of which being too large to remove through endoscopic procedure. I was led believe the only way to remove it was surgically. I thought only a portion of my colon would be removed. Dr Allen was determined to remove my entire colon, as soon as my diagnosis came back from genetic counseling. I asked why I would need such a radical operation, but she was obstinate and would not discuss any other options. I sought a second opinion, and was informed the large polyp could actually be removed through Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR). This is a specialized type of colonoscopy that I underwent with the second doctor. Not only was this doctor able to remove the large polyp in question, but found 4 MORE polyps in my ascending colon that Dr. Allen had LEFT inside me !!

Wonderful!! Had colon cancer surgery. Recovery was quick and painless. Had access that had to have drain tube surgically inserted. She always went above and beyond even during my surgery. Spent 2 hrs fixing something other than just what surgery was supposed to be.

I do not recommend. With only a glance, she assumed I had a fistula and started saying I needed a seton string procedure and started talking about scheduling the procedure. I didn’t feel comfortable at all with how quick and dismissive of my concerns she was. I got a second opinion and had some additional tests done and her diagnosis was COMPLETELY WRONG. I am so glad I went with my gut and got a second opinion. Seems like she is just looking to schedule procedures to bring in money.

Two big issues. First, I was sent to her being told she’s the best. I waited very long in the waiting room then she came in for no more than 10 minutes and directed me to a different doctor. Gave no direction on anything. Second thing, cost. Prior to insurance it was $390. After insurance it was $240. Now let me remind you, this was not for anything more than an 8-10 minute consultation. I called and talked to Nichol directly voicing my concern and she said tough luck. horrible “doctor”

I have been in adult diapers and incontinent and unable to digest food since my procedure about 2 years ago. A 4 to 6 week recovery was quoted. Despite the physical work put into attempt to recover and return to work, the 30-120 minutes per day have proved to be useless. I'm very confident that I was told to be patient and continue working on recovering until the statute of limitations was up. Follow up consultations were 5 minutes at best. Irresponsible and indifferent. Odd scaring. Avoid!
