I met the doctors assistant today and went over an extensive health history. The doctor came in and questioned several times about abusing drugs and having an opiate addiction which I have zero history of. Then rather than getting any sort of treatment started, she said she will speak with my new PCP and call me back. Then suggested I need psychiatric testing. Based on this, it's obvious the doctor looked up my prescription history and nothing else. It's quit insulting, emotionally devastating and does nothing in making forward progress in my goal to be functional in life again. Standing in front of me while looking down with your arms folded as you are questioning my integrity instead of asking why I may have taken a certain medication typically used to treat addiction would have been a much better choice. It was obvious she is a beginner. I wish doctors were required to pass bedside Man or classes to practice. If she only knew what she just did to my depressed state and my anxiety.
