Dr. Nathaniel Barnes, MD

I have not been able to meet Dr. Barnes, who is highly recommended. His staff is a barrier impossible to overcome. They demanded me to render my previous medical records, which I did. To my surprise, April misplaced the hard copies that I give her on her own hands. She kept silent for about a week. When I called back, she told me could not schedule an appointment without previous medical records!!! She even questioned the number of visits I did to my previous doctor. I regret not seen Dr. Barnes due to his unprofessional office staff!!!

Before scheduling the appointment, I discussed probable issues with the intake nurse and stressed I needed my insurance provider to cover the appointment and diagnosis. Staff assured me that it would be. After I met with the Dr. Barnes, I later received a denial of coverage from my insurance provider as well as an invoice from Memorial Hermann Medical Group for my appointment. When I called the billing and coding department at Dr. Barnes office, I had to repeatedly leave voicemails and I did not receive a call back. When I finally was able to get in touch with someone, I was told Dr. Barnes did not provide any coding that would be covered and Rachel in the billing department had the audacity to infer I wanted them to commit fraud to change my coding. This is complete bait and switch. I will never use Dr. Barnes or any physicians or medical services partnered with Memorial Hermann Medical Group as they are not ethical. Do not use MHMG or Dr. Barnes as they do not provide ethical care.

Absolutely horrible staff in every way.

Staff was most friendly and helpful. If there was a previous problem with the phones, it's not there now. They returned my call same day and made it very easy to make an appointment for a time that worked for me. The doctor addressed my concerns. The whole thing was so professional and easy for me.

Dr. Barnes is a very intelligent , competent Doctor, who approaches each patient with respect, and concern. He plans treatment with these same traits. His background is exactly what one would like to see in every doctor. I cannot emphasize enough the expertise of Dr. Barnes, as well as the kindness he brings to each person he sees. He may ask you to wait, but it is the excellence of Dr. Barnes which he is giving a patient in need that would cause him to run late, not lack of concern for the patient waiting. He will apologize if this occurs. I have been seeing Dr. Barnes for about 17 years. I trust him to care about problems I might have as well as plan a good treatment.

The worst office. The phone is too hard to call. They wouldn’t return phone call especially for an appointment . Terrible office staffs.

Worst office ever. They won’t return phone calls even to make an appointment. You physically have to go to the office to get an appointment or for anything else you need. And then when you go for an appointment you are left waiting for hours. Obviously Dr Barnes is only interested in making money and couldn’t care less about his patience. Dr Barnes seems to be competent but the fact that he is so uncaring in regards to patient communication is extremely off putting.

Excellent with the doctor, it’s the office staff that’s horrible.

I WILL NOT RECOMMEND Dr. Barnes to anyone. MY husband was seeing him for two years. He did nothing for two years even though his PSA was high, now he has prostate cancer. Please do not go to him.

i have been sending Dr. Barnes patients he is very friendly professional and knowledgeable; he saved my life many years ago something neither me nor my family will ever forget. another dr did surgery on my kidney and left out of the country after the surgery. I started bleeding in the kidney and many doctors refused to help me because I wasn't there patient. until Dr Barnes was checking on his patient in same room as I was. I asked him to help me and sure enough he really saved my life.

He was great. Very professional
