Dr. Nathan Manthey, DO

I recently moved back from a major metropolitan area where I have interacted with a large number of physicians for personal and professional reasons along with many at Mayo over the years here. Dr. Manthey displays a very high level of knowledge in many aspects of the medical and health arena along with excelllwnt listening skills towards the patient. He is empathetic and does not try to push anything as far as medication that isn’t necessary and can explain the reasoning behind suggestions for medication, tests and treatments he recommends. I’m not joking when I say o haven’t met with a better doctor through out the years and some of them have been recognized on an international level. Thank you Dr, Manthey for being a breath of fresh air in the medical community.

Dr. Manthey has been my primary doctor for over two years now. He is very friendly, intelligent and thorough. I have a couple medical conditions that need management. Dr. Manthey always explains my options and answers any questions. We talk everything over completely and the I decide which direction I wish to go. This doctor tried to over prescribe medication’s for a back injury I received, he was also gonna give me some type of psych drugs because of a survey question I answered that I wasn’t interested in any activities at this point in time because I recently broke my back, he said he was prescribing a depression medication anyway He said if I didn’t want to follow his recommendations to go to a different doctor,I’ve never had a depression issue so it was a total miss diagnosis even after explaining why I answered the question the way I did
