Mixed Feelings
She’s very knowledgeable in her field, but not in communication. I’ve been complaining about pain in my joints and it took 4 separate interactions for her to order an X-ray. She even tried to diagnose me with something that did not fit my symptoms. And she based it off of assumptions. Sometimes she over explains things, and sometimes she doesn’t explain at all or just brushes me off. So I have mixed feelings about her. May need to change PCPs …

Constantly telling you that there's nothing wrong.
Don't waste your time. She'll tell you that there's nothing wrong even though your labs say differently.

Very dissatisfied with my last visit with her. I felt as though she made her diagnosis even before she did any assessment or asked me any questions regarding my condition. She is always wanting to refer me to multiple different specialists (5 referrals in one visit). It seems as though she always wants to “pass the buck”. She seemed frustrated and annoyed when I asked questions about my condition or made suggestions. Very Very disappointed with my last appointment, will be looking for another provider who is more knowledgeable and actually cares.

All in, all done with her! She is very inexperienced and her attitude is very indifferent with regard to your care. Not open to discussing alternative ideas for care. I had a wrist injury, she didn’t even look at it. Suggests I “squeeze a ball.” I felt it hard to understand her Chinese-English as well.

Hesitant to refill prescriptions for medications that have been working that were prescribed by my previous physician, instead wanted to refer me to a specialist. Seemed to think it was no big deal having to drive over 2 hours to see a doctor. She is very uncomfortable in offering any kind of care other than referring to someone else.

I've been seeing Dr Chen for about 2 years now. She is very efficient and thorough. Always recommends that I quit drinking alcohol (I’m a social drinker) and exercise more (which I should!). I don’t normally write reviews, but I’m shocked to read some of the negative comments here. I’ve never had a negative experience with Dr. Chen.

I liked meeting with Dr. Chen. I think she was very clear on questions and solutions. But, her medical staff/office does not follow through with referrals or telephone calls. I also had to wait almost an hour before I asked what the delay was and they said it would be a bit longer wait I said no thank you and left and requested a refund of my co-pay.

Horrible doctor. Ignored all of my concerns, dismissed my current medical conditions, and even had the audacity to laugh at me for bringing up a concern (that was based on a diagnosis from my previous doctor). She clearly did not understand any of my conditions, and she was extremely rude and thoroughly ignorant. She should not be allowed to practice medicine. STAY AWAY!!!

She was not helpful at all. Disputed my previous diagnosis from a doctor I trusted 100%, and made no suggestions as to what else I could have. Wanted to refer me to three different doctors instead of treating me herself. She wasn't even familiar with two of my diagnoses. Not knowledgable, not trustworthy, not competent. I won't be going back.

Dr. Chen is my first doctor in the Reno area. She took about 45 minutes to go through my medical history and to thoroughly understand the issues I have. She then made recommendations on how she felt we should proceed in my care. She is very understanding and competent in her job.

I was disappointed in my yearly physical with Dr. Chen. She, nor her PA, listened to my heart and lungs, looked in my ears, etc. She had my blood work numbers and failed to prescribe the thyroid medicine I have been on for years. In fact, somehow she didn't know that my thyroid had been removed years ago so I have to have that medicine. The primary concern seemed to be whether I am loosing my faculties..which I am not. I don't know who prescribed by Medicare this exam is.
