I'm giving a 3 because I have no complaints about the doctor. I actually was a patient for roughly 13 years. My issue is with her staff. I drive 40 minutes to see this doctor. I will admit that I left home later than expected and ran in to unexpected traffic. HOWEVER her office front desk staff use no common sense in working with patients. While trying to check-in, I was told that I was 3 minutes past the grace period so I could not be seen. I told them where I came from and asked if they could check with the dr to see if I could still be seen regardless of the THREE MINUTES and they declined. It would have been a simple task. Please note the office was not busy but 2 females at the front desk declined 3 times instead wanting me to reschedule. Its unfortunate but I will seek a new doctor after seeing Dr MacLaurin for 13 yrs. I cannot waste time driving through 2 cities and reach an inconsiderate receptionist again.

Dr. MacLaurin was my attending ob-gyn throughout my pregnancy, and she did not follow-up when I was found to have low iron. During my labor and delivery I lost a lot of blood, and my blood count went to low, and I passed out and almost died. I had to receive a blood transfusion, which was ordered by a doctor from another practice. She told me later, very nonchalantly, "oh well next time we would make sure we made a note that you had low iron and we would monitor right from the beginning.."

She delivered one of my six children and I saw her on and off for the pregnancies of two of my other children. I have been to many OBGYNs over the years in multiple states and ten years later I still remember her as one of the best if not the best OBs I have ever had. Very friendly, patient, and kind. I remember her as having an extremely relaxed and happy disposition - a true contrast to many OBs who seem like they are rushing from patient to patient, stressed out, and don't have time for you.

After several weeks of consults, testing, etc. Dr MacLaurin performed an in office medical procedure that changed my life! She set very realistic expectations of the outcome and was very specific about how I'd likely feel during and after the procedure. She was spot on in her descriptions which brought me lots of comfort during my healing process. She's approachable and extremely friendly. I'd see her again in a heartbeat.
