Dr. Berner has been an excellent doctor for me! I am living with Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma & was hospitalized & given big doses of Prednisone & she has helped me manage to titrate down to a manageable level. Dr. Berner is the best endocrinologist for I've found for Type 1 Diabetes (LADA). I was diagnosed as a 30 year old adult and went through two endos before finding her. She took extra time to answer my and my partner's questions about this complicated condition. And helped me simplify my care by reducing the numerous (useless) medications I was on. And follow-ups have been great. I don't feel judged for my BG levels either. She has moved from Chicago to Orange County, California at UCI health so this posting needs to update.

My experiences with Dr. Berner were great. She listened well, explained my testing and options clearly as well as listened to what I wanted to try. I always got returned calls quickly from her staff.

I have to say this doctor was less than helpful. When I asked her a question she laughed at me in a mean school girl laugh saying it is because I am old. She didn't do any blood work, or labs on me and sent me with a prescription I could have gotten from my general practitioner. She had no bedside manners. Waste of time going to her, didn't help or solve anything.

I was recommended to see Dr. Berner for her help in dealing with a prednisone dependency. Dr. Berner spent over 30 minutes explaining how this was to be treated and answering our questions. Lab studies were ordered and the next day (Friday) I went to the lab for the tests. Saturday evening Dr, Berner called me at home to report on the results and with new medication instructions. The caller ID indicated that she was calling from her office!

Dr. Berner is an outstanding physician. She is very thorough and works with you where you are on your health journey.

Dr. Berner takes all the time needed to listen to you, to thoroughly examine you and to discuss your case from different perspectives and options. Besides her tremendous knowledge( I attended one of her lectures given at a hospital), kindness and caring this a doctor who is very cautious in her recommendations. Indeed an exception in my experience.
