cannot believe what just happened !
been a patient for several years and called this am for an appointment - since I am having discomfort, tightness in my chest area ... not life threatening ......the recptionist said I must pay an overlooked $35 co pay, until I pay that I cannot get an appointment ..... told the receptionist I am getting a new cardiologist and filing a complaint with the appropriate medical agency .......

Unprofessionally harassed a patient
Will be contacting HCA Florida leadership regarding very inappropriate questions. Asking someone if they are single and berating them for their health condition is very inappropriate conduct unbecoming of a health care professional.

I went to see Dr. Koshy for severe hypertension. I also suffer from a mental illness. Dr. Koshy did such a terrible job treating my hypertension, so that two physicians -not cardiologists- stepped in and prescribed medications he should've prescribed, and recommended treatment he should've recommended. In my last visit, when I mentioned the treatment recommended, he dismissed it and recommended an alternative. When I presented him with evidence that his alternative would be very dangerous for someone in my condition, he didn't address the issues, instead he launched into an angry tirade and insulted me using two derogatory terms for people suffering from mental illness. This was very very painful for me to hear. Needless to say, I left his office to never return. I would take the positive reviews with a grain of salt. My experience does not justify those reviews. Also, be aware, he has no qualms using your very own medical issues to humiliate you and put you down.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Koshy for a number of years. He takes time with his patients. His gentle manner and professionalism is appreciated

Dr Koshy has been here in Sarasota for many years. He has taken care of many of my friends in that time! They all rated him as a fantastic, caring Cardiologist. I had seen him, as a Dr 2 years ago in Doctors Hospital. He was very smart as what was going on with my heart, where the other Cardiologists didn’t have a clue! Years ago we didn’t have computers or iPads, etc to leave comments, but if they had, he would definitely get a 5 star rating.
