Dr. Monique Sessler, MD

I’ve lived in Williamsburg for 8 years and have had to experience one corporate health care provider after another-Sentara, Riverside, TPMG- as well as VCU Health. All let me down and never were more than businessmen. Conveyor belts I’d be run down and not seen nor heard. I was despondent and needed a real doctor-sworn to Hippocrates not Halliburton. By pure Irish luck I found Dr Sessler. She’s brought this whole patient back to life. Dr Sessler deals with all of you. She LISTENS. She may keep you 45 min to get to the bottom of the issue. She’s wonderful! Professional. Brilliant. I’ll never complain about waiting for top notch health care.

Overall Dr. Sessler and her team were very unprofessional. The office environment was unclean and had an odd smell. We had to wait 3 hours past our scheduled appointment time to see Dr. Sessler. She did not seem organized and had poor communication skills. Dr. Sessler forgot to call in my daughter's prescription and she was without her medication for the weekend.

She listens is no judgemental and kind. Best family care doc in town

Absolute neglect of boundaries set by an adult patient. If you bring a friend or family member she is like 'See the problem is you...not me' then tries to befriend your friends, family, and other doctors to imply that it is you who is in the wrong. Oh your prescription was written wrong...you should have been one to notice at the busy pharmacy....not me who is the doctor w/medical records going back eons on same drug & prescription strength. It's like swizzle sticking you repeatedly & then saying see you are the one being over reactive & then getting others to agree with her.

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Sessler for over 20 years. She's an angel, and really knows what she's doing. Best doctor EVER!

Dr. Sessler is a good doctor. She has been great treating all of my symptoms except my Sinuses. Due to the lack of anti-biotics which caused congestive heart failure. I am now paying the price. Its like I cannot get well. Scheduling is great. The wait time is so so depending on what day it is and I haven't seen a nurse on my last 2 visits. Also, let me add that when I first started seeing her, She was great. Listened well. Examined well and now its like get in wait and hurry to get out.

I would absolutely not recommend Dr. Sessler to anyone. I was very clear about my purpose going in, and at no point did anyone in her office make clear that I would not get the physical that I asked for, but instead be billed $125.00 for a new patient appointment. Aside from that, Dr. Sessler was not honest, or was ignorant, about the birth control options I went in to talk about. She was quite condescending and it was the worst appointment I've ever had with a medical professional.

Very good doctor, kind and caring. Very knowledgeable. Takes very good care of me and my family.
