Dr. Monika Patel, MD

I have had some very disappointing experiences with Dr. Patel. When I expressed certain concerns about my health outside of an annual appointment, she came across as very condescending, rude, and did not have much to offer in the way of solutions or advice. She also dismissed any family history I brought up. To make matters worse, during my visit she called another doctor and proceeded to read off my entire medical chart without asking for my permission. I had no idea who she was talking to our why until after she was off the phone. This violation of my privacy was completely unacceptable in my book. I would not recommend Dr. Patel to anyone based on this experience.

I had my first visit to the COPC Suburban Internal Medicine and could not be happier. Labs and Radiology all in one building. The App was easy to use ahead of visit which sped up check in time. Staff at check in and check out were polite and professional. I needed to find a new General Practitioner and so happy my search ended here. This was my first visit with Dr. Patel. She was on time, listened to my concerns and explained options for handling them. There was no, I’m the Doctor and know what you need. She very much wanted to know what I thought. We reviewed my medications and discussed any labs that I may have wanted at this visit. I opted to what to have labs at my physical. Dr. Patel reviewed the list of Specialist I see and asked that I complete forms to request record so she could see the whole picture. We discussed the need for any vaccines at this visit and I requested a Tetanus shot. Brittany, a super nice Technician gave me the shot. I think? Didn’t feel a thing.

Dr. Patel often does not listen to my health concerns. I've been going to her for several years and she seems to be distracted a lot of the time. Today when attempting to change an appointment, I was told she does not work on Fridays!! And this after she cancelled a long standing appointment for her own convenience. I guess it's Dr.s are more important than patients with her.

Dr. Patel has been both me and my husband for several years. I only wish we had found her sooner. To me it is important for your PCP to know both husband and wife.

Very on point with my health and I believe she cares about me as a patient

Dr. Patel was my PC for about two years and I haven't been back to see her in a year since. I kept telling myself that I needed to make an appointment but I just kept putting it off. Finally, I realized that I just didn't want to see her again. It's not that Dr. Patel is a bad doctor or unintelligent, it's that she is just unlikeable. I know that it isn't a requirement for your doctor to be friendly but she brought such an unhappy and heavy weight into the room whenever she was in it. She always seemed disinterested, judgmental, impatient, and just plain unhappy. I didn't want to talk to her. I didn't want to tell her things. I am done going to doctors, particularly primary care physicians, who can't be bothered to show a little kindness and compassion to their patients. I think it's time for all of us to say that doctors like that just aren't acceptable anymore. As a side note, my appointments were also frequently canceled at the last minute due to family emergencies.

I’ve been under the primary care of Dr. Patel since I relocated in 2018. She always takes the time every visit to go over any health concerns and follows through with any testing or care that needs to be involved to determine what treatment needs to be followed. I highly recommend.

Dr Patel is very thorough and will ask you a lot of questions to find out more about what's going on with you. I actually left her (bad decision) and went to another doctor, but soon came back to her. I'm glad I did.

Dr. Patel has been my physician for the last few years. She is caring and empathic and the office is so efficient. Nurses, techs, front office are all great at what they do.

Love the no nonsense approach from Dr. Patel. Very direct and to the point and takes the time to listen and actually examine you. Her nurse Brittney is also awesome and both are professional and caring.

She is very understanding and listens to your concerns. She takes time with the patient to help them with their health issues! I just moved to Columbus and Dr. Patel was recommended as a primary care physician. I was very pleased, her staff was very helpful and professional. My initial visit was not rushed, I felt listened to and I am very happy that I found a doctor that I feel confident in.
