Besides the fact that Dr. McLain is so caring and careful, her PA Elizabeth Baruffi gives the same level of knowledgeable and compassionate care. I never feel like they are rushing my appointment.

So let me start by saying I am critical of our health care system, drs don't listen or follow up and just push you off to a specialist, most of whom can't see you for months - BUT Dr. McLain and her practice in Vernon Hills have been the exception. They always follow-up and take great care even when specialists leave you high and dry. I have recommended this group to anyone looking for a doctor. As I said, I am very critical and have high expectations due to dealing with very ill family members and more doctors than I care to have seen. It is out of this experience that I know when you find someone that calls you to ask how you are doing, makes time to squeeze you in and makes you know that they truly care about your well-being you have found the right practice. Thank you Dr. Mclain and your team for making me feel heard and cared for

Dr. McLain and her staff are extremely knowledgeable and take the time to get to know you. I highly recommend anyone in her office.

I had a large tumor on my jaw that had popped up practically overnight on Sun am. Called first thing Mon am to be seen & they could only get me in with PA. The PA was very concerned, we waited 30 min for McLain to come in for consult. She barely looked at me, not a word said to me, just a few to the PA, didn't even touch my face. She left exam room & PA chased her down the hall. Pathetic bedside manner. Thank god oral surgeon I found never let me sit in waiting room they were so worried about me

From scheduling an appointment to a relaxed, pain-free blood drawing, you know that you’ll be in good hands that are accommodating of your needs. Dr. McLain has a wonderful bedside manner and handles matters with grace and clarity. She takes the time to make sure a patient is informed about their health. 1. Dr Mclain herself is a very good person but systems around her, such as accessibility to her or to her staff and getting prescriptions re-filled is almost a nightmare now after being taken over by Northwest hospital system. It is a huge hassel now for the patient. Also, total charges billed to insurance just for a physical have ranged $ 6-7 thousands. Northwest system has lowered the quality of practice and raised the cost of her services. Survey questions should include these 2 points.

Dr Mclain is simply the very best and all you could hope for as your personal Physician. Outstanding expertise in all areas, when she says she listens - she really listens, she feels like a personal friend who I TRUST with my care- and she is my husband, daughter, son n law doctor- we all love her- yes we are emotionally attached to het because she takes such great carefr my serious back issues, my daughters thyroid, diabetes- she treated my mom with such care and expertise -till her passing-
