This office's receptionist team needs to be more productive and proactive and feel less comfortable disconnecting patients' calls. The coldhearted, uncaring doctor team developed office rules. It encouraged the receptionist team to reject patient care based on what they believed was excellence in serving the community.

Disappointed
It's disappointing when you make an appointment over a year in advance and the office can call you to switch it to an office over an hour and 15 minutes away with no regard or respect. If I didn't keep the appointment, the next available was over 7 months away! No apology or understanding for the inconvenience. At my last appointment, I was also moved to the Avon office last minute and was taken over an hour later than my scheduled appointment time. The time spent with the doctor was less than 15 minutes total. Rushed... If another dermatologist has an opening for a new client, I am definitely switching.

Fantastic, thorough, excellent doctor
I have been seeing dr, Shahriari since moving to CT in 2020. She is very knowledgeable, and caring, and has an excellent bedside manner. When I need to get to see her, she always makes accommodations to see me. She makes seeing her very comfortable. She is TOP Notch!

Diagnostic only
Does not do any surgical procedures but refers you to a surgeon, though her office claims she does surgeries. Then she covers herself from liability by making a simple procedure like skin tag removal a major procedure that my regular doctor routinely snips off in the office. Expensive waste of time. Demands credit card before seeing patients.

I have been to 2 other dermatologists with 2nd appointments cancelled due to Dr. no longer available because of illness by one and Covid 19 problems by other. This visit was quite different with extensive improvement of office staff, waiting area, pre-screening, lab area & workers, Dr. Shahriari's knowledge and layman's explanation of what she found and possible treatment of same. Her assistant's help and further explanations to all my questions. My visit was totally professional and left me with total confidence and ease of mind that this was an excellent choice for my treatments.

The office was backed up and I got ruined 40mins after I was supposed to. When the good doctor finally got to me, the appointment was rushed and she failed did not consult me nor did she listen to my concerns. It felt more like a vet appointment rather than a conversational between an expert in the field and a human who has been experiencing the issue.

They will only let you through the door if you provide them with a credit card to keep on file or $100 deposit (even if you are fully insured). They are more concerned about receiving payment than providing patient care. This policy speaks volumes.

Today I had my first appointment with Dr. Shahriari and Kathy after my previous Dermatologist retired and recommended her group. My visit was at the same time professional, thorough and understandable, but more importantly Dr. Shahriari and Kathy were so personable and welcoming. I was able to check in on time, see and talk with Dr. Shahriari very soon after, and after all my questions were answered, just as quickly check out and set up my next appointment. Everything about my experience was professional, personable and reassuring, and I will be bringing my daughter to see Dr. Shahriari for her annual checkup next.

My experience with Dr. Shahriari has always been positive professional and the treatments is exceptional. However today 11/21/2019 @ 2:30 pm for my schedule appointment paid my 40.00 co pay and then was asked to sign a form to charge a on file credit card in the event there is a balance after the insurance company has paid their portion. I stated I did not feel comfortable signing that form nor did I see necessity in sign when upon becoming a patient in a office you already sign a form assuming responsibility for billing beyond what the insurance pays. I was however denied services because I did not give consent to charging my credit card at will and I am very disappointed in this practice.

I saw Dr. Shahriari for the first time today and was very impressed with every aspect of this practice. The office staff (secretaries and medical assistants) were very welcoming and efficient as far as checking me in and getting me situated in the exam room. Dr. Shahriari was friendly, upbeat, and knowledgable. She was very thorough as she performed a body check for me and was happy take time to explain the different types of skin conditions I had. I will definitely continue to see her and I highly recommend her to anyone who is in need of a dermatologist.

My husband and I are now current patients of Dr. Shahriari. She was highly recommended to us and now after myself and my husband have been seen I can understand why. First of all, we were both able to be seen within one week of calling to make an appointment which is unheard of in dermatology. It was great that we could be seen in a timely manner. Also, she is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. We both felt as though she was very thorough in her exam. She took time to answer all of my questions and even provided an email address for non urgent matters and questions. What impressed me the most was that Dr. Shahriari herself called my husband with his results of his biopsy. She made us both feel like we were her only patients! I am now recommending her to all my family and friends!

I have been a patient of Dr Mona since she was in residency. She is smart, kind and compassionate. I saw other doctors who would not give me stronger treatments for my psoriasis. But she reviewed all the options and the potential side effects and together, we decided to start a biologic. She was very patient and honest and made it clear that the treatment choice was my decision. She guided me the whole way. My psoriasis has been clear for years now and there’s no one else I’ll see. I followed her to Cromwell and I’d follow her anywhere else she goes. Highly recommend her.
