He overdosed me on lithium carbonate. I collapsed on my living room floor & lay there for 1 to 2 weeks. I incurred 7 pressure wounds which required 2 surgeries & also a rotator cuff injury. I was rushed to Research Hospital KCMO & was in intensive care in critical condition for 3 weeks. The doctor in charge told brother that he didn't know if I would live or die. They managed to stabilize me & moved me to a comfortable room, then did surgery on all 7 pressure wounds. Then a few days later the surgeon examined the wounds & said we have to operate on all of them again or you will die. So, thank Amiri for almost killing me & leaving me crippled. This not born of anger or malice, only for the purpose of informing.

Dr. Amiri is a kind, charismatic psychiatrist that possesses excellent recall when following up on previous visits. Even if he his cracking open my file minutes before my arrival to refresh for our appointment, his attention to detail has always been truly appreciated and somewhat enviable. I recently discovered Dr. Amiri is not only a Psychiatrist he is also a Neurologist. Talk about qualified? Seek no further.

Love Dr Amiri. Psych appts in general aren't a lot of fun, but Dr Amiri never fails to make me laugh. He's able to easily recall details from prior visits, despite them being 3 months apart. He also listens to questions, concerns and suggestions I have regarding meds. I would strongly recommend him to anyone, but I would highly recommend him to other mental health professionals.
