Neglectful and rude
Terribly disrespectful doctor who will treat you awfully, in terms of treating your condition poorly and treating you poorly as a person in general. This man (and Inova Neurology overall) is just terribly irresponsible and does not care about you at all. He will not hesitate to pass you off to the next patient in line if you say the wrong word. Petty, egotistical, and bad at what he does. He emphasized “quality of life” ad then made mine 1000000x worse. People like this don’t deserve to be wealthy, and I don’t know how they sleep at night knowing how awful of a situation they put people like me in.Not professional, not courteous, will take forever to schedule an appointment, and does not have a treatment plan: just wants to push pills. Highly recommend searching another, more down-to-earth doctor in the area.

Was extremely rude towards my mother today when I was at the neurosurgeons office for seizures and neck pain because we thought that my shunt could have been failing. The neurosurgeon called him in to see what Dr Kurukumbi thought it could be. Grateful for Dr. Leiphart and Ann for being understanding and caring. I would recommend seeing Ann for your epilepsy over Dr. Kurukumbi because she is very knowledgeable and nice and in my opinion has great bedside manner. Dr. Kurukumbi’s bedside manner is horrible.

Bedside Manner – Nov 09, 2023

Great Bedside Manners
Dr Kurukumbi conducted some tests on me where I needed to stay in the hospital 4 days and he made me feel very comfortable and was very thorough when I asked him questions. When I had to deal with his physician assistant my experience was great too. She is very pleasant too.

I was impressed at the first appointment as he took the time. It is true he pawned me off to a Neuropsychologist and Occupational Therapist. The second interview for my results and condition was totally bad. He explained nothing and I did not know why I needed a head shrink? Just because some of us do not have very serious illnesses like Dementia, or other serious stuff. Still suffering from Diabetic Neuropathy is important to some of us.

I should say it was Good. But than I have no one to compare him with. He does take time to discuss issues but pushes responsibilities to Occupational therapist and Neuropsychologist. Who are unable to give timely appointments to get back and see him for further clarifications.

Nothing but great things to say about my doctor. He put me on a new anti-seizure medicine that improved my quality of life hundred percent. I also asked him what else I could do to improve my memory issues, and he gave me excellent advice. I did what he suggested, and, again it improve my memory situation 100%. I drive an hour and a half to get to his office - Totally worth it.
