Turbinate reduction surgery
Dr. Rao did a fantastic job in opening up my airway via turbinate reduction surgery. He explained the procedure in a clear manner and everything went as expected. It was a very short recovery. I am well on my way to abandoning my mouth breathing and I am successfully breathing thru my nose. It has also helped my CPAP experience, as I am breathing thru my nose now and am not experiencing dry mouth when I wake up.

Rude, hateful, belittling and downright mean! He cut me off before I could answer his questions. He kept saying, 'I don't know you or what your nose looks like' What does that even mean? Replying, yes that's your nose and yes that's your face. He even went as far as to ask, what do you do.. play inside your nose? I left feeling ashamed, belittled and humiliated. I had an hour drive home and cried the entire way. Being from a small community without an ENT, I chose him since he is located right on the Lutheran Hospital campus.

Dr. Rao did a fantastic job with helping me with my throat problems. He explained everything where I could understand what his plans were. He told me prior to my surgery what to expect after surgery. He explained everything to my husband on what to look for after surgery. What his role would be to help me at home. Thank you Dr. Rao for getting to the root of my throat problems.

Maybe a bad day?
I don't know if he was having a bad day but I have never been treated with so much condescension. He went so far as to suggest that perhaps my voice issue was because I wanted attention. I left feeling as badly as I went in with no answers as to my vocal/throat issue. Actually sat in my car and cried because he belittled me and the "potential cause" of my issue (stress). For a doctor thay has so much education and experience, he needs serious work on compassion and kindness in his practice. A little humility would do him good.

Dr Rao - Outstanding!!!!
Last year Dr Rao corrected my deviated septum and a couple of other minor nose issues. First he is just a pleasure to talk to. Explained everything clearly. Puts you at ease. The surgery was life changing. Could not be happier with the results. I would highly recommend Dr Rao

Dr. Rao was so great to work with after my thyroid cancer diagnosis. He patiently answered any questions I had, did a fantastic job on my surgeries, and had a sense of humor that I enjoyed. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs an ENT, and will certainly return if I ever need his services again.

I experienced a throat swallowing issue for several years but remained in denial to do anything about it. Had difficulty swallowing pills & food; found out that over time the condition became worse. I felt I could never find the right ENT Specialist whom I had faith and confidence to perform surgery. Upon encouragement of family, I met with Dr. Mohan Rao MD, ENT Otolaryngology, Ft. Wayne, IN. The doctor explained the issue, was reassuring & listened; he was very personable and super experienced in his field re throat concerns. I found the person I trusted; accomplished the pre-tests and scheduled the surgery! The surgery was a success; I am SO THANKFUL for Dr. Rao’s professional skill to guide me in the right direction.

Dr Rao performed a surgery on my sinuses to remove a polyp. He was very thorough and was very detailed in all that he did. He let me see CT scans before the procedure and was very meticulous in his follow-up post op visits. I would highly recommend Dr. Rao to anyone that needs to be seen at ENT.

I saw Dr Rao in the ER after I fell and severely injured my nose. He was very reassuring that he would be able to stitch up my nose and have it look like said appendage instead of raw hamburger. He was very thorough and I now have a nose with two even nostrils. It is currently healing quite nicely. He is very experienced I am grateful that he was the one on call that day.
