Dr. Mohamed Akl, MD

Negative Scheduled and instructed to arrive early, which I did, only to find no one at the office, everyone out to lunch. Office unable to locate paperwork, submitted electronically prior to visit. I had to resend from my phone. 45 minutes later, no Doctor, I'm told 'he's in a meeting'..... took my co pay and paperwork and left. If his staff are allowed to behave in this fashion, wonder how disrespectful he is towards patients.

I had an appt. with Dr. Akl one week ago ...he said he would call me and i could schedule surgery to have my implant removed. After 10 calls to his office left msg. with his Nurse Danielle and with Diane his surgery scheduler. To date have not received a call back from any of them. I am at the point of frustrATION WITH THESE PEOPLE. What exactly do I have to do to get someone to return my calls.

Dr Akl was great throughout my treatment plan starting with testing , discussing options and the actual surgery. He explained all the options and helped me make an informed decision. The surgery was great and had a big positive impact on my life style and daily activities

I had to wait a month for my appointment. I made a morning appointment and waited an hour to be put into the exam room. I was in the exam room another hour where Dr. Akl came and went, mostly going, so for the two hours I invested of my precious time I got about 15 minutes of his time in 2-5 minute intervals. After I had more questions, was told it would take 3 weeks to get into a scheduled surgery which was recommended. A week later I have not heard anything back from his office. I did recieve a voicemail but did not receive any response from the return call I made. I am now waiting another month for a second opinion. I want to do what is medically appropriate but clearly this office and the doctor could care less. I believe that Dr. Akl is a good surgeon but the office is a mess and very chaotic. That also speaks volumes for the care or lack of it.

Dr Akl is a great doctor and very experienced in bladder disorders. He spent time listening to all what I had to say and explained all my options. The nurse practitioner Danielle was very pleasant

Their staff needs some education about how to treat those of us with impaired movement/function. The test chair was broken, but they decided to use it even though I'm unsteady on my feet, and a fall would be disasterous. Explained I would not schedule surgery unless ALL providers were in network. I went through all the tests/bloodwork/visits, scheduled surgery, only to find out that the surgical assistant would not be covered because they are NOT in network with any insurance (it states this on their website, which I had to visit because no one answered their phones, and their mailbox was full...NOT good). Had to cancel surgery, and I am appalled at the waste of time, $$, and insurance $$'s.

I am giving an updated review for Dr Akl. Since my original review he has tried to resolve some of the issues I had with communication and office response. I am still healing at this time and so the final outcome of the surgery is yet to come.

Great doctor office is clean and organized. They return calls promptly. I had great results with bladder treatments

My visit was great. Dr Akl very informative. I had I marked improvement with my treatments and I am looking forward to more results.

My whole experience was 5 starts. My first visit was easy to schedule and the front and back office personnel were helpful and professional. Dr Akl was great in explaining all my options and helped me choose the right option that align with my goals. Everything went perfect and I am glad that I chose that office

Surgery results were above my expectation with complete resolution of the bladder problem. Now able to enjoy life without worries. Aside from a ton of paper work to fill in the first visit everything went smoothly afterwards. Dr Akl is very professional and accommodated my timing needs during the scheduling process. The surgery scheduler was great and on top of things.

Great doctor. He Gave me a diagnosis and treatment plan after I was sent from one doctor to the other. I followed the treatment protocol and felt so much better with no bladder pain.

Dr. Akl is the nicest doctor. Explains all options and returns back phone calls promptly. The medical assistants are on top of things
