Dr. Mohamed Akhiyat, MD

Left this office feeling like my voice wasn’t heard and that he cared nothing about me, my body, my wants or my feelings. He is straight to the point, and lets you know that he absolutely WILL NOT consider what you want and WILL do exactly what he wants to do, despite your feelings about it. If he doesn’t agree with what you want to do with YOUR body, he will straight-forwardly tell you to see a doctor who will, because he’s not the one. Drove a pretty long way to visit this office, which was one of few within my network that claims to provide a service that I need; While very informative, he did not LISTEN to me and wanted to complete a hysterectomy because it’s what HE WANTED, not what was best. My research has shown that a large number of hysterectomies are unnecessary. These procedures are more often done to IMPROVE a woman’s life, but are not needed to SAVE her life. I was provided with other options (of which he is unable to perform) and he expeditiously exited.

He got me through a difficult menopause. Saved me from getting a hysterectomy.

Visited twice, tried to give the second visit a chance and it was worst than the first visit. I advised him that I needed scar tissue removed from my female organs due to a c-section I had with my son years ago and he told me no, I needed a hysterectomy. Lol Mind you there is absolutely nothing wrong with my reproductive organs. I had numerous test to show exactly that. He didn’t even consider the fact that I may have adhesions webbed around my female abdominal organs, bc of the issues I described to him. I mean it happened to me before. My gyn at that time went in and removed them and I was good as new. So I left the office thinking he didn’t give a damn. So I don’t recommend this doctor at all.

I moved to Florida and was looking for a great GYN was told by friend he is great. I really felt he really care about my heath and asked all the important questions. I am so glad I found such a great doctor.
