I was fortunate to see Dr Patrick Walsh after my 4+4 biopsy. After a consultation, Dr Walsh recommended prostatectomy by Dr Allaf. I was lucky to show post surgery pathology at 3+4. The Johns Hopkins staff was exceptional from start to finish. I’m 3 weeks out of surgery and recovering. I’m 2 hours from Hopkins but all questions I pose post surgery are immediately answered.

Dear Dr. Allaf, I (age of 63) have set up an apt with you in March 2022 (PSA 2.5, Gleason 3+3>6...), but three family members (2 uncles and dad) dies of prostate cancer. My brother also was diagnosed and his prostate was removed at age of 57. Just follow up on what this patient said below. (1) Did this radical prostatectomy also remove his seminal vesicles? (2) Did you keep his nerve (nerve-sparing)? (3) When he said (erections), does that mean he only could have a dry orgasm assuming his seminal vesicles had to be removed? (4) Do all prostatectomy protocols need to remove seminal vesicles? Hope I can see you sooner Best! --------------- I was referred Dr. Patrick Walsh for a consultation. He referred me to Dr. Mohammed Allaf at Johns Hopkins. I traveled to Baltimore to have the surgery. Its 3 months later and I'm fully continent, getting erections (at age 63) and just got my first PSA test; PSA < .01. Nuff said !!! Go with best since your first shot is your best shot.

Dr. Allaf is compassionate and dedicated physician and surgeon. I was diagnosed with kidney cancer and Dr. Allaf did a phone consultation on a Friday evening after hours. As a world renowned uro-oncologic surgeon his words inspired confidence in my course of care. I would personally recommend Dr. Allaf to anyone who needs his expertise.

I was referred Dr. Patrick Walsh for a consultation. If you don't know who he is then you should become acquainted with the name and read his book A Guide to Surviving Prostrate cancer. After being diagnosed with prostrate cancer, Gleason 3+4=7, he took time (not compensated may I add) to go through my options and I settled on the surgery. He is 82 years old and no longer practicing but told me you basically get one shot at this and you need to do it right.

Traveled from upstate New York in early December 2019 to have prostate surgery with Dr. Allaf. I was impressed with the detail and knowledge of the doctors at Johns Hopkins compared to local options. As a 48 year old male, I was very concerned about potential long term issues with urinary and sexual function. Five months following surgery, my urinary function is nearly 100% back to normal. I have no problems during exercise and the only time I run into problems is with a full bladder with extreme stretching movements. Sexual function has exceeded expectations. Erections returned quickly ( one week after surgery) and although still not back to the strength from before surgery has been improving steadily. Most importantly, after about three months of recovery, I had returned to normal so much so that I stopped thinking about cancer and the surgery on a daily basis. There are a couple hotels that provided good rates and hospital shuttles. Thank you Dr. Allaf and the Johns Hopkins staff!

I came to JHH from Canada to see Dr Allaf and am very glad I did. He treated me with great respect, explained everything in as much detail as I wanted and genuinely cared about my welfare. After a Euronav guided biopsy I returned six weeks later for a robotically assisted radical prostatectomy. The entire experience was as good as such things can get is my belief. A truly caring team and it shows.

I cannot provide enough praise for this doctor. He performed a laparoscopic radical prostatectomy on me this past May. My initial visit put me at ease. Everything was explained in great detail. He has a very caring personality and great bedside manner. Not only that, for this type of surgery experience really matters and Dr Allaf has the credentials. Everyone at Johns Hopkins Hospital was "on point" and not once did anyone "drop the ball" during my day and a half stay.

I went to Dr. Allaf after an MRI showed a growing kidney tumor that was small and the radiologist recommended removal of the tumor. I found Dr. Allaf to be very knowledgeable and felt totally confident in his recommendation of cyroblation for this removal. I would strongly recommend this doctor as clearly one of the best I have seen. The delay in the wait time was due to staff verifying insurance coverage, not due to waiting for the doctor. He also has a very pleasant nurse assistant, Anna.
