Dr. Misook Soh, MD

I saw Dr. Soh many years ago. She was quick to diagnose me with a mental illness I do not have. When I mentioned another diagnosis my therapist at the time, who knew me much better had suggested Dr. Soh had me take an extensive costly test at another location. When that test confirmed my correct diagnosis she complied and medicated me for the correct diagnosis but did not waiver on her misdiagnosis. With the mis diagnosis in my file I was forced to take medication that I didn’t need for years in order to receive the medication that I actually needed. (My medication could cause issues for people who actually have the illness I was misdiagnosed with if taken by itself) I suffered for years with harsh medication side effects from drugs I should have never been on! Since then I have seen a few doctors who’ve confirmed I do not have the mental illness she diagnosed.

Terrible. I was trying to get off Xanax prescribed to me by another doctor. She cut my dosage in half. I had horrendous withdrawal symptoms for months. When I told her I was really suffering she literally rolled her eyes and told me I couldn't possibly be having withdrawal symptoms. Heartless and unempathetic. Researching Xanax tapers online I learned that reduction should not be more than 10% at a time and over many months depending on the dosage. She tapered me over two months, 50% each time. Obviously, I freaked out. After this horrible experience, I found a Psychiatrist at the University of Penn that successfully tapered me over a period of one year. Do your homework.

Dr Soh is a great clinician and human being. She really cares about her clients and works hard to get them Stabilized so they can pursue their next steps..

She practices turn-style medicine. You go in, sit down, she asks if I need any new scrips. She will drop ativan or xanx into your hand at the mere hint of inquiry of those drugs. Basically, the same as every other psy. doc (except one). I've had to visit. If you want a quick pill dispensary then go to her. If you want a health care professional, seek elsewhere . She is an excellent psychiatrist that really knows her stuff!!! I'd recommend her to anyone. She has been my doctor for more than 10 years, I rely on her expertise! Diane
