Dr Altwail was working in the Beaumont Royal Oak emergency room when I was sent for blood tests related to side effects from chemo. My oncologist sent orders for me to be admitted while they waited for 24 hr blood cultures. Dr. Altwail requested a CT scan prior to being taken to my room on the oncology floor. Her recommendation SAVED MY LIFE! The CT revealed my colon had been leaking for some time and required immediate surgery. Chemo drugs masked the infection. Can't praise her enough!!
