Dr. Milap Mehta, MD

My experience was not positive, and I am not sure I would want to go back in the future. I have muscle spasms under my eyes which are now also affecting my cheek muscles in the face. I showed him video of when it happens, since it comes and goes, and he said he could not trust the video because I could have made them with AI and he did not see the twitching in the office. I was stunned! Why would I make something like this up?

Dr Mehta is warm, kind, reassuring and an outstanding clinician. He performed an in office tear duct evaluation for my teenage daughter - he is clearly very skilled. Dr Mehta gave thorough explanations. He is one of the best physicians I have ever seen.

Mehtas office submitted my info to Insurance co w wrong DOB over 4 mths ago &never followed up.BCBS kicked it back and it sat on someone’s desk, they didn’t re-submit. 4 months of stressing/planning it’s 6 days pre op & they have no approval. The circus went on from there w many phone calls & a lot of BS. Ultimately they told me this: (this is going to be hard to believe.. that an ocular surgeon who trained at The Cleveland Clinic, would be ok with this) They wanted me to prepare for the surgery, “fast” the night before, get ready to leave and wait for them to get last minute approval from BCBS. So I should prepare and then when they say GO! I get my care giver to drive me the 1.5 hours to Macneal hospital and have the surgery. Just like that. 4 months of stress and planning and they’re scheduling this eye surgery like a hair cut. This place is there solely to push claims through insurance companies to schedule more surgeries, whether they’re needed or not. It’s a 3rd rate clinic.

Dr. Mehta is one of my favorite specialists I have ever seen. He has a great attitude, and is incredibly knowledgable in his field. It's such a breath of fresh air to go to a doctor who is personable and friendly. You can tell that Dr. Mehta loves his job, and his passion for treating patients is palpable. I would strongly recommend Dr. Mehta to anyone who is looking for an amazing eye specialist. His entire staff is phenomenal, from top to bottom. Could not be happier with my experience.
