One of my children showed extraordinary courage in sharing with me that he was ready to admit that he needed professional mental health care and was coming very close to crisis. I called, filled out paperwork, and my child was scheduled for a phone appointment with Dr. Barker on June 30th at 9am. Appointment day rolls around, my child is excited and nervous and...hopeful. Hopeful that perhaps there is help; that someone is going to help him heal the pain he is in. I am hopeful for him. And...nothing. Dr. Barker doesn’t call at the appointed date and time. No one calls. We wait an hour. Then two. I call the clinic several times and no one answers. It goes straight to voicemail. I leave a message. And keep calling. No one calls back. No one answered my email. Today is now Monday the 5th...and no response today either. I am shocked and broken-hearted that we have meant so little to this clinic as to even warrant a call back.
