Dr. Miguel Pena, MD

We have had 2 visits with him I found him very thorough. Took the time to ask if we had any questions. He explained why he was doing, what he was doing in regards to our health. Did not order unnecessary tests. I truly liked him. Also his staff were very nice to us. Messages I sent to My Chart were answered in a timely manner. I have absolutely no complaints.

Amazing doctor and staff. Thorough. Professional. Friendly. Competent. They all go above and beyond in the care of their patients.

I’ve never had a doctor who is more thorough and l, legit, tries to make sure things are coded properly within documentation so your insurance will cover it while also providing the diagnostics needed for any symptoms or possible illnesses. It was never done in a nefarious way or anything. He just truly doesn’t want his patients to be stuck with medical bills which is something no doctor has ever given two thoughts about in my experience. And the one review about sense of humor? Totally get it but also don’t. I just listened to my favorite podcast and they even made a joke about how their doctors having too much humor is red flag city and they don’t like it. Gotta say I agree. I like his serious demeanor even though I’m a ginormous smart a***

Dr. Pena and his staff lack a good bedside manner and basically lack interpersonal skills. I waited 2 hours for a recent appt and not one staff person mentioned any reason or apologize for delay. They basically acted as though I was crazy. Dr. Pena seems to be so thorough that his thoughts seem scattered at times. When he detects a potential or current problem, he throws every and all medications and all tests known to mankind at you as a patient. Would not recommend!

This guy is Cold, Callous and will barter you out to other people in his circle of "doctors" for every symptom you have. I walked out after waiting for 37 minutes after my appointment. I would highly recommend looking for a physician that's not in the Franciscan Network. Religion and Healthcare should not go together!

I had the privileged to have Dr. Miguel A. Pena as my primary care doctor for more than five years. He is very professional, with extensive recent medical knowledge. As a diabetes patient he made sure to follow up on all the medical care I needed, & trusted him with my medical care. Very detailed with my medical history. Overall, a very excellent doctor. He was able to work & handle patients for two Esperanza clinics, within the community, due to this he was able to add more medical knowledge/background. He is a very serious about his job as a doctor, as it should be. Some people don't know the difference between a doctor & psychiatrist, nor can't handle the truth. Or know what a doctor's job is.

I started seeing dr Pena just early last year. He isn't friendly but he isn't rude either. He has no charisma and whenever I try to lighten the mood he just looks at me as if I'm insane. He is a good physician but personality wise he lacks humor and personality. It's uncomfortable and if someone is going to be checking my nether regions I expect them to be friendly to say the least. But other than that I never wait long periods for him to see me. I'm usually in and out of the clinic within 45min
