Dr. Michelle Sagan, MD

I took my teenage daughter, who is actively involved in competitive volleyball, to Dr. Sagan with a complaint of severe back pain. Dr. Sagan gave me two options: go to P.T. first to see if that helps or have an MRI. Since my daughter could barely walk, I chose to have the MRI. Dr. Sagan’s nurse practitioner called to inform me that the MRI showed a dehydrated and bulging disk. She gave us an order to see a physical therapist. When PT was not helping with the pain, I called Dr. Sagan‘s office several times to notify them. In response, Dr. Sagan referred us to pain management specialist. At this point, we sought a second opinion. After reviewing the original MRI, the new orthopedic doctor immediately identified additional issues shown on the MRI. He ordered additional X-rays and tests and found that she had a stress fracture. Due to Dr. Sagan’s misdiagnosis, my teen went unbraced for well over a month and had Physical Therapy that was counterprodive for a stress fracture.
