Pick you battles
I’ve read many reviews, good and bad. I’ve been to see Dr Purvis twice now and found her to be very responsive, knowledgeable and caring. Yes, the wait times are real, however I choose to pick my battles. Her care is the way healthcare should be, not being crammed into a dictated 15min slot and given the bums rush because of a healthcare conglomerate expecting certain (unrealistic) levels of “productivity”. For me her quality of care, compassionate demeanor, and expansive knowledge is worth the wait. Going forward I will just not schedule appointments to follow. My only suggestion would be to have the staff inform at scheduling that because they’re a small practice be prepared for a possible wait so that the patient may plan accordingly.

Unbelievable!
Took an elderly woman to see Dr Purvis. Waiting room for over an hour, in the exam room for over another hour. When Dr Purvis came into the room there was no apology for the wait, in fact no mention of the wait at all. It was obvious that she had not read the hospital reports, discharge summary, or looked a pre and post xrays. Her main focus was the patient’s blood pressure not taking into consideration that she had been in a wheelchair for over 3 hours at the time. I have heard that her patients love the time she spends with them, but what about the other patients who have to wait hours? It is a very poorly run practice with the doctor making the problem worse and giving the staff a very frustrating job, maybe why there is such a big turnover in staff! Maybe try some time management techniques, such as fewer patients per day, reschedule an appointment if it looks to be involved, and be considerate if others. I could never recommend this doctor and hope I never have to back!

Dr. Purvis is a physician in the true sense of the word, not only an M.D. When we as patients have a major health issue, she works with us to achieve a healthy outcome rather than being rigid in her practice of medicine. We feel grateful to have found her in our move from city to rural area.

Wonderful Doctor, terrible staff. The person who answers the phone "once she feels like answering" is rude. Her name is Viky and she does not send the billing correctly to your insurance either. So, if you are lucky and she answers the phone you might get an appointment. You also want to double-check that Viky sends the bill correctly to your insurance. The Doctor is very knowledgeable and she goes to the point. They are under staff. Expect delays

Dr Purvis painstakingly froze at least a dozen actinic keratoses - precancerous skin lesions - off my face, neck and shoulders. She was very patient and personable. She took her time and was very thorough. I was aware of some of the lesions, which is why I went to see her. But she called several more to my attention that I hadn't noticed.

Horrible communication and scheduling. Over booked and not enough people to get assistance. Nice doctor, poor planning and staff. You will sit for a hour+ and listen to the phone ring and ring. Noon comes around and staff start to leave for lunch. I understand we all need lunch/breaks, but wow as a courtesy they should let everyone in the waiting room know it will be a little while and see if anyone wants to reschedule on a better day for them. Lesson learned, do your research.

Where do I begin? I went to see Dr Purvis because I felt OFF and all the research I did online pointed to a hormone imbalance. She pretty much told me I was a hypochondriac and said my blood results were normal, a week later I went to a different doctor and found out I have extremely low progesterone levels. Dr purvis does not listen to her patients concerns. Terrible terrible doctor, don’t go to her!

This woman gives doctors a bad name. She doesn't listen.. She doesn't do the writing on the charts her staff does. Nine times out of 10 they write the wrong information. . It had taken me ten days to get a antibiotic. Truly to summon it all up.. she missed her calling. The circus isn't to far for her performance. That's how I feel after seeing her.

Dr. Purvis is an overall poor physician ignores her patients & refuses to listen when they have proper concerns. I've seen Dr. Purvis personally 4 times for an injury. Each time, it's not the injury that she brings up, but instead asks about my weight! She ignores me when I give her detailed statements concerning the pain I'm in, & avoids giving me appointments, sometimes not seeing me again for four weeks. In summary, if I was not forced to see this woman for workers comp I wouldn't.

While I feel Dr. Purvis is a competent medical provider, the wait time, both in the reception area and in the exam rooms is far beyond what is acceptable. I'm willing to wait for an hour, but up to two hours or more is unreasonable and shows either a lack of proper scheduling, a serious time management problem or a lack of respect for the value of other people's time.
