Dr. Michele Saums, MD

Gynecologists are supposed to treat women through the lifespan. This office does not have a clue how to treat or support peri-menopausal patients. I had a 30 minute telehealth appt with Dr Saums about alternatives to HRT. She said she wanted to look into side effects or counter-indications with my HBP, but I never heard from the office again and my after visit visit summary literally had zero notes. Once you are done having babies, this office is done with you.

As a survivor of recent severe trauma, I felt very respected during my first appointment with Dr. Saums. She even told me she left a discreet note on my profile to insure staff was informed and prepared on how to treat me after surviving what I did. Right after my appointment, she sent requests for me to go to the next floor down for Lab tests. While I was there, it seemed there was some sort of miscommunication between the upstairs office and the Lab. Rather than handling my information and dignity with sensitivity or compassion, the Lab receptionist chose to call down to Dr Saums office, speaking loudly about embarrassing and private tests to insure the entire lobby heard her. I ended the appointment in tears and sent into a PTSD flashback. No one from the Lab or Dr Saums has even reached out to discuss what happened or make sure I was alright, it was over two weeks ago, so I cancelled my further appointments.
