Ever since we received the sad and horrible news that my husband had stomach cancer, we were heartbroken and not knowing what was coming for us. Until we met Dr. Michel Velez who has given us so much support, his help, experience and knowledge has given us hope. He is a doctor who listens and explains the steps to follow very well, he is compassionate and acts very quickly, he has given us a lot of confidence and we are very happy to have him on our path, it is a blessing for FCS to have doctors like him in their cancer center.

Dr. Velez is the best doctor I’ve ever seen and we see a lot of doctors. He’s professional, extremely knowledgeable, and thoughtful. The medical system is lucky to have him! His staff is amazing also. All around great facility and care.

Dr. Velez saw my husband at Advent Health hospital after complications to a TKR that resulted in blood clots and multiple PE's and a 23 day stay. The previous hematologist told me to close my notebook and put my own down but the experience with Dr. Velez was much different. He rounded before I was able to be at my husbands bedside and happily allowed my husband to conference me in on the phone to explain a very complicated diagnosis. I had a million questions and Dr. Velez patiently answered them all with care and compassion. Today, we had our follow up in his office and his staff (Jayleen, Deana & Stephanie) are just as amazing as Dr. V! Dr. V spent over an hour with us answering more questions and concerns with the utmost patience. Doctors and medical staff like this are hard to come by especially during a pandemic. Our family is forever grateful for Dr. Velez and his entire staff for treating us as if we were family.

Dr. Velez is very knowledgeable and caring. He is patient centric, listens and integrates the patient's decisions into the care plan. Is is an integral part of the Bienes center team and provides thorough assessments and options. Highly recommend him.

Dr. Velez is the most talented, caring and wonderful doctor. He cured me of breast cancer and gave me my life back. He’s smart and takes his time to explain complicated medical terms. I remember Dr Velez as a young man doing his internship .He’s become brilliant oncologist, caring & compassionate. He is up on all the new treatments. I know going to a breast center the wait can be long. Over the 20 years, I consider myself lucky to have to wait. I have been a patient of Dr Velez for 4 years. He is the most compassionate and caring oncologist I have ever encountered. He goes above and beyond what any oncologist would do. He always listens carefully, addresses any issues and talks me through my fears of a reoccurrence. He is an asset to his profession.

I do not recommend Dr. Velez! I was in an exam room for 75 minutes waiting for him to appear. When he appeared I told him that waiting 75 minutes was too long. I told him the long wait was upsetting. His response to me was "You are welcome to find another Doctor." I felt that he was letting me know that I needed him,he did not need me. This man is immature, unprofessional and vindictive. Poor qualities for an Oncologist! Cancer is hard enough, you don't need your Doctor offering you the door,
