Dr. Waul listened carefully to us when my husband identified and described a red spot on my back, which was confirmed to be a basal cell.

Excellent bedside manner
Dr. Waul was very patient. After having gone to several specialists across the country he was the only one that could correctly diagnose and treat a bothersome rare recurrent rash I struggled with. He knew right away what this thing was called. I am truly grateful and will definitely continue to see him. Thank you Dr. Waul

Negligent
I left Dr Waul's office very frustrated, but I wouldn't be writing this review if that had been the only problem. First, we talked about seborrheic dermatitis, and I had found some non-traditional treatment that was working well. Dr Waul was dismissive and fell back on the usual derm answer of rub some steroids on it. I felt not heard, and was disappointed by his level of openness and curiosity. BUT HERE'S WHERE IT GETS CRAZY. I then pointed out a lesion on my neck. He never examined it, but told me it wasn't seborrheic dermatitis (that was correct). But he let me walk out of there without looking further!! Turns out it is a basal cell carcinoma. THIS SKIN DOCTOR MISSED THE SKIN CANCER ON MY NECK, THAT I HAD POINTED HIM TO LOOK AT! Thank goodness it got bigger, and my wife had me go to another dermatologist. I'm writing this a little mad, because today I got the diagnosis from the biopsy. Now I'll need Moh's surgery. It would have been a smaller surgery had Dr Waul done his job.
