Hip and Knee replacement
The pre surgery discussions were helpful and accurate with respect to the entire process and the expected outcomes. I had two procedures, first a left hip and three months later a right knee replacement. Both were out patient and I was out before noon. The pain was well managed, I was off all meds in less than a week. In three months, the hip was 100% in range and almost in strength. As explained prior to surgery, the knee was more stressful and required more caution during the first three months of recovery. The pain was well managed. They put in a pain pump so the only pain meds I required was OTC for the first 4 days. In four months, my right knee has full range of motion (same as the left). I expect full knee strength within another three months. The PA Christopher Hanson was very helpful for all post-surgery visits for great guidance on best road to a speedy recovery. Many thanks to Dr. Valastro and team. At 69, the surgeries greatly improved my quality of life. :)

Highly Recommend
Dr. Valastro is great! As an (aging) tennis player, I have had knee reconstruction, rotator cuff repair and hip replacement over the past 15 years. I ask a lot of questions, and he answers them all. He has great bedside manner and a sense of humor. He asked each time what my goals were as far as returning to my workouts so that the surgeries would be successful and I would know the timelines. Since the practice moved under the seton umbrella, it is a bit more challenging to reach his staff, but they are always helpful and responsive.

I have had a Total knee replacement surgery with doctor Valastro in 2020, just at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, It's approaching 2 years and my knee's still hurt. I was not treated well by his staff after the surgery and it's very difficult to reach his nurse (for question after surgery), or his PA (for the needed medication), or even the office manager (poor service). I won't come back because it is not a successful surgery (still in very much pain) and I don't want to deal with his staff either.

Dr. Valastro and his team are first-rate. I shattered my wrist. The office got me into surgery within the week to correct the damage and put in a metal plate. I was seen regularly until it was well-healed. They're all very busy but made sure all my questions were answered.

Dr. Valastro did an excellent job on my shoulder surgery. He replaced my AC joint and my shoulder feels fantastic! Feels like I'm 20 years old again playing college baseball. Highly recommend.

Micro-fracture surgery. By far the worst surgery I've had. 6 months after surgery my knee "clicks and pops" probably 20 times a day. His nurse is virtually unreachable and the communication from his office is horrible if it exists at all.

I met Dr.Valastro for knee pain. Using X-ray, he educated me with detailed info on where the bone density was low and normal, where cartilage tissue had degenerated and its severity, amount of physical exercise that is okay & not okay, strengthening ex, weight reduction to prolong surgery. When asked question, he took extra effort to pull back the X-ray from system and explain us again. He provided short and long term solution. He was kind, cool & took time to explain even after working hrs.
