Is the worst psychiatrist I’ve ever seen in my life he’s actually willing to argue with you about who you are as a person. He marked my chart as drug abuse for marijuana and when I asked him about that, he tried to say yeah it’s cause he smoke weed but that doesn’t mean I’m an drug addict and you have to put I’m abusing it. I’ve even scheduled appointment to meet him in person to give him that urine test, but he always canceled and did it virtual has also caused me to lose my job for not helping me with my mental health and with paperwork!! If you care about yourself and you wanna get better, don’t see him!! He will also wrongful diagnosis you! Stay away!!

Dr. Seyffert, excuse me, Michael as I was corrected to call him multiple times, for his comfort, is not someone that I felt I could trust. I didn't feel listened to. Ive been diagnosed with ptsd and bipolar disorder for years, and have been taking my meds for years. Due to circumstances outside of my control I had to switch providers and was assigned Dr. Seyffert through my primary care provider. I saw him twice. He attempted to change my diagnosis to a personality disorder even though I told him it doesn't line up with my lived experience. He didn't listen and decided to change my meds instead. I asked for a different provider within their practice, to which he refused my request. I saw him twice and there was absolutely no reason that I shouldn't be able to see another provider. I ended up cancelling my appointment and am looking for a provider elsewhere. Stay away from Dr. Seyffert if you want trauma informed care.

I saw Dr. Seyffert because I was in urgent need of getting a new prescription, but after all is said and done, it would have been better for my mental health to wait another month to see anyone else.Dr. Seyffert immediately jumped in to interrogating me and my diagnosis on our first call. With total abandon to any kind of bedside manner, he told me to tell him all of my trauma including CSA. He was so cold and demanding that I was on the verge of a panic attack trying to tell this man my history of abuse. Trauma is very hard to talk about especially with a stranger so I fumbled with my words which he took as me being “tangential” which I later found out by reading his notes. He might as well have called me hysterical. Instead of treating me for what I came to him for, he diagnosed me with a personality disorder instead of PTSD. Now I have that in my medical records, which jeopardizes any health care I receive in the future because of how stigmatized the disorder is amongst doctors

Today was my fifth and FINAL visit with Dr.Seyffert. I am left with nothing but negative feelings about him as a healthcare professional. I do not feel heard, seen, and infact feel JUDGED by him. He never remembers my history, and I have to remind him a few times during our visits about things that are in his notes. He is not warm, welcoming, inviting and I pushed myself really hard to maintain seeing him as my psychiatrist. I feel invalidated and he refused to accept my adhd diagnosis from a LMHC (who can diagnose but cant prescribe medicine) I highly recommend choosing someone else. I will not see him again going foward.

inhumane
Taking the bold step to see a mental health physician is not the easiest thing to do and it is imperative that there is a mutual sense of trust. To me, a mental health doctor should be warm, non-biased or judgmental, an active listener and overall, just make you feel safe and secure. If we share these same feelings, then let me save you some time by being utterly transparent: Dr. Seyffert is the complete opposite and it is alarming. I left the meeting feeling WORSE and as a person diagnosed with chronic depression, let’s just say I emotionally spiraled. His notes proved he was not actively listening, which was noted at the fact that there were a few things incorrect. He interrupted and made condescending remarks throughout the meeting--and overall, it was an inhumane experience. He is clearly only there to 'get the job done' and feels accomplished if he diagnoses you with anything. I will be getting a second opinion, as I do not trust his judgement AT ALL.

NOT LGBTQ+ FRIENDLY
This is the most entitled doctor I have ever met with. Not only does he interrupt you when you're talking, but he also does a terrible job of trying to understand what you are going through. If you are a part of the LGBTQ+ community DO NOT GO TO HIM.

Empathetic well-rounded psychiatrist
Dr. Seyffert is working with my daughter on borderline personality disorder. She has also had trouble sleeping for years. The fact that he is board certified in psychiatry and sleep disorders is extremely helpful for her. In addition, his experience as a parent with a child who has struggled is invaluable and gives him a rare perspective.
