New patient visit
Michael Salter and the staff at the office are mostly all really rude. I saw Michael on Tuesday and once I was explaining my problems, he told me that I complained too much and that it wasn’t his business. The man also laughed at me when he saw how emotional I was getting. He told me that if I didn’t like him laughing… I could leave! I explained my concerns because I’m a diabetic. I told him that I felt that I was treated unfairly, and he asked me that why did I go back? He was really rude and he obviously didn’t listen to what I needed because I had to reach out to the office twice after. And I still didn’t get everything I needed.

This was the first time I saw Dr. Salter. I think he is great. He came in and sat down and listened to everything I told him and he was listening to everything I said. He talked to me like I was a regular person and was not rushed in anyway. Dr. Salter is easy to talk to, attentive and caring and I would highly recommend him to my family and friends.

Check your Medical Records
First time here as a new patient it was a little odd the the Doctor didn’t seem interested in my history and continued to change the subject when I tried to tell him about it . He did seem knowledgeable on my immediate issues. However He didn’t physically examine me nor did he never touch me at all. but when I read my medical record after the visit it listed things on there that was not done like examining my abdomen. Said my bowel sounds are normal among other things. Can’t check bowel sounds from across the room. A laundry list of other things on there as well that shouldn’t be . Beware of this Doctor. And read your medical record after appointments if possible.

Ther is not any care once you leave the office. When doctors care about patients they follow through with presciptions and lab notifications. Worst i have dealt with. And it was at least 3 incidents this year. I am looking for s new primary for me and my Dad. Staff needs to be able to communicate with medical assistant and doc.

I've been going to Dr Salter since I moved to Statesville almost 3 years ago. He is the best Dr I've seen in my 56 years of life. Now his office staff has a lot to be desired, can't really get them to do what he tells them to do.

Would not recommend. Took mother-in-law for pain in her left side, abdomen. He ordered blood work and x-ray. Dr Salter was suppose to call later than day after the tests were complete to verify his diagosis. It is now three (3) days later and no phone call or treatment. Hopefully it is not a blockaage or something else major. Also x-ray that was ordered the technican could not understand his request (doesn't he know how to fill out an x-ray request?)
