Very rude and uncaring ! Wouldn't let him operate on me if he was the last doctor on earth!

Outstanding Surgeon!!!!
I can't stand people’s nonsense nowadays! Doctors are not supposed to be babying you for hours in the office! They have many patients to take care of! He has 30 years of experience!!!Let me say that again! He has 30 years of experience!!! He got me in and out of the office, and my surgery was scheduled for the following two weeks so that I couldn't be more grateful! Surgeons should execute their job precisely, just like Doctor Retino, and not babysit patients! If you need someone to talk to, schedule an appointment with a psychologist! Thank you so much, Doctor Retino! I appreciate you and your team! My surgery went super well!

You are a true blessing Dr. Retino!!!
Dr. Michael Retino and staff you truly are a blessing. I am a patient of Dr. Michael Retino and I can not begin to express fully in words the gratitude for Dr. Retino and his staff. I had a Carpal Tunnel and Ulna Nerve Entrapment procedure performed by this amazing group of professionals. They are without a doubt a true blessing in everyway possible. I do not care for the hospital scene as many are and needles. Ugh. But l will share with you that from the beginning Dr. Michael Retino and his staff made me feel so at ease and as comfortable as I could possibly be. They have the best bed side manners, compassion, understanding, thorough attention to details and absolute concern for my visit there. I cannot even begin to put in full words the gratefulness and respect I have for everyone in the office and at Manatee Memorial Hospital. He is in my opinion the best Orthopedic Doctor ever from beginning to end. Search no more. Trust me I will always continue to go to him and his staff. Thanks

Rude and unprofessional !!!
He screamed at me as soon as he walked in the room. (3 weeks Post Op elbow surgery) As I was crying, I told him I needed help from physical therapy as I just lost my mother and was really struggling. He then told me (while still screaming) "yeah I know I'm the mean Guy......well your Arm is not going to wait for you to greive " I explain to him I am aware of that, which is why I'm asking for help from physical therapy. He then said if you're not going to listen to me then you can get out!! And I did, as I have never been treated that way by a physician in my life. He has bo business dealing with people on any level. Worst Doctors experience in my life!!

Don’t listen to the other reviews!!!
Dr Retino is an AMAZING orthopedic doctor!! He did surgery on my husband’s bicep and I am blown away but how well he is doing!! His bedside manner is honest and compassionate, he has been checking on us continuously through the process from his cell phone not only when in the office. I was actually fortunate enough to have worked with him in the OR in Ohio so I knew we would be in the best hands. He is very meticulous and detail oriented and out of the surgeons I have worked with he is the BEST when it comes to prepping and avoiding infection. My husband is 46 years old and is very active in the construction industry. He tore is bicep tendon completely off the bone and muscle, to say it was a complicated surgery is an understatement. Dr Retino did an AMAZING job and he has had very little pain thus far. We still have to go through physical therapy but I am positive Dr Retino will lead us on the right path!

Horrible orthopedic doctor
He should’ve placed me in physical therapy weeks ago! First visit told me I wasn’t ready for physical therapy. Second visit 3 weeks later lectured me so rudely that I almost cried about how much muscle mass I lost in my calf from my sprained ankle. Now I’m trying to go back to work and I work 12.5 hour shifts in the hospital and refuses to give me the doctors note I need to safely return to work. Don’t bother going here highly recommend finding another doctor.

I did not trust Dr. Retino's assessment. I would not even accept the medication that he offered. He appeared to be indignant because he could not do knee replacement surgery, because I did not meet the hospital's weight guidelines. He did not do a through examination and was dismissive on my concerns. Did not offer physical therapy. I will be seeing another doctor.

Dr. Retino is terrible! Worst doctor I ever saw. Only went to him because myPCP recommended him.I fractured my ankle inApr. 2017. He had me wear a boot cast for 8 weeks, then told me it was healed, and released me. It continued to bother me, so I went to another doctor. That doctor had me get a CAT scan and it showed it never healed. I am using a bone stimulator and may require surgery. Stay away from him. He could care less about you! I will be reporting him to the Medical. Board.

Very displeased with this doctor. He waited 34 days after surgery to start therapy my shoulder became frozen. My shoulder is worse now than before the surgery I would never ever recommend this doctor to anyone.

My 81 year old mother broke her shoulder. She was told by Dr Retino it was non displaced and did not require surgery. I told him "but my Moms pain is getting uncontrollable". He stated "yes it's painful not much I can do though. I'll see her in my office in 4 weeks and I'll do more xrays then" She continued to get worse and a trip to the ER 3 days later. She had a displaced fracture and surgery was required!!!!!! My 81 year old Mom would have continued suffering if we listened to him.

he's a good surgeon but get rid of him after if you're on workmens comp or disability because he doesn't care. He's all for the employer and doesn't care what the patients needs are. All he cares about is the almighty dollar, and his office manager should never work with people, rude!!!

I would highly recommend you do NOT visit this doctor. I saw him once, and I did not care much for him. However, I did not learn my lesson because I saw him a second time. Never again! He did not take the time to truly listen to my ailments. He even quit making eye contact with me and turned away to ignore me. He proceeded to examine the wrong area, as well as WORSENED my pain. He even went as far as to insult the intelligence of my PCP. He is as arrogant as they come!!!
