Dr. Michael Muench, MD

I did not have a good experience with this doctor. Without knowing any of my health history, he made assumptions about me. He was not very personable and made me cry after my appointment. I can appreciate a male in this setting, but he needs to acknowledge that he has no idea what pregnancy is like and needs to be a little more sensitive to this population. If I have to return to their office, I will request he does not see me. He made a joyful appointment into a miserable one.

Dr. Muench is one of the best providers I’ve had the pleasure of working with (in my history of seeing doctors!). He was our MFM provider with my first child two years ago and was able to make us feel confident and cared for during an extremely difficult time. When we decided to get pregnant again, I knew he was the doctor I wanted on my care team. It is evident that Dr. Muench is very knowledgeable within his field. He listens and answers any and all questions (no question is too crazy). He is encouraging and realistic but not 'scary serious', adding humor to the conversation (as appropriate, of course). He understands the data and the research and is confident in his approach to treatment, while also being open to my own thoughts, concerns, and ideas. He goes above and beyond to make certain that I’m cared for, my baby is cared for, and my husband is cared for. Dr. Muench is the guy you want on your team.

I had a very poor experience with Dr. Muench. First of all, I thought I was scheduled with Dr Parrot, as this was who I was refered out to, but I was ok with winging it with another Dr. I was visiting due to preexisting conditions that put me at high risk for pregnancy. This Dr continued to explain to me about my conditions and made me feel like I wasn't heard. When I explained I have hEDS, which is a hard thing to get diagnosed, he proceeded to question me about this and gave me a look of skepticism even though this diagnosis has been validated by my rheumatologist. He did not seem to have much concern for me and gaslit me throughout my visit. I explained that I sometimes have heart palpitations and have had this all my life. He proceeds to say 'Oh well everyone gets these when they drink a cup of coffee.' I just felt like I was so invalidated. I was frustrated and crying in the car after this visit. The office also tried to bill me for money already paid by insurance....

Dr. Muench did my CVS testing and was extremely personable and made me feel comfortable. He made a very un-fun test a little easier. I would also just like to say all the staff that I worked with (genetic counselor, ultrasound tech, nurses, etc.) were so nice and caring. Would recommend this doctor and the OP location to anyone!
