Solid doctor, easy to work with
I have been with Dr McTiernan for a two years now and he is the best primary care doctor I have had in a long time. He takes time to explain his thought process, is willing to chat and accommodate my health goals rather than just dictate, and never feels rushed. One time, he even solved a skin infection that had stumped a dermatologist.

New patient onboarding
Had to cancel a new patient visit due to round two of covid, but got a rescheduled date a while out. Had my appointment today and it was honestly great. I have severe white coat syndrome and he was awesome for the overall checkout. Super nice, explained what he was doing the whole time, and answered all my questions even if they were kinda dumb on some topics. He’s really up to date on research papers, and has solid bedside manner on an initial visit. Also got blood drawn in office, and he wasn’t lying when he said the nurse was good at her job, barely felt it and I have veins that like to roll. Even though my anxiety was through the roof, he made things ok and took his time with me. Never felt rushed or scared. Even asked about machine blood pressure vs home readings, he did 6 manual readings and gave an average to put my mind at ease. Solid doctor from what I saw today, and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t do well with docs.

Horrible
Waited 8 months as a new patient, just to be canceled on the LAST day! AND you have to wait for ANOTHER 6 MONTHS! What a great doctor!

He takes time to understand what’s wrong and then talk to you about the various procedures are available. You are a part of the outcome. I have recommended him to anyone looking for a great doctor.
