Dr. Michael Mahan, MD

I discovered Dr Michael “Chad” Mahan after I intended to have my knee replacement surgeries done by a well known doctor at a clinic in Vail but their insurance person told me in an unprofessional manner to “find another doctor” implying that with my insurance, I couldn’t afford the well known Steadman doctor. Searching the next closest hospital, Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs, I saw the credentials of a new orthopedic surgeon that was on staff. An appointment was made and within minutes of meeting him, I knew there was something unique and special about him. It went beyond the medical and surgical training that he had, which was substantial. I had to share with him, prior medical surgeries, when and where they were done and reasons for that medical history. Nothing fazed him. Unfortunately, life took an unexpected medical turn for him and he will not be performing my double knee joint replacement. I cannot adequately express the sense of loss I feel.
