Dr. Michael Levitt, MD

As a retired physician, now a patient 0f Dr. Levitt, I feel it is most important to comment as to what an example he is as to what a physician is meant to be: caring, empathetic, responsive to your patients concerns, characteristics equally important as are your ophthalmology skills. Excuse me for getting sensitive, but there are not a lot of you around these days and you are to be commended as is your office staff for whom you set an example. Mathis L. Becker MD FACS

Dr. Levitt just completed cataract surgery for my eyes in January and I am happy to report vision is back to 20 20 in both eyes. I have been a patient of his for at least 15 years and I trust him and his staff completely. They are knowledgeable, respectful, and extremely patient in addressing any concerns you may have.

Dr. Levitt runs a first class operation. He sets out a plan for the cataract removal and lens implantation from the outset and then executes the plan flawlessly. He and his staff alleviate any potential anxiety from the process.

What can you say about someone who has taken your vision from 20/800 in the right eye, and for all practical purposes blind in the left eye, to now 20/20 in both eyes? Dr. Michael J. Levitt is an expert at what he does. He and his entire staff are very calming. Believe me you need that when you trust someone with your precious eyesight. Dr. Levitt gave me back my life.

I went to Dr Levitt to have my eyes examined and it was then that I found out I needed cataract surgery. I was so impressed with the care and thoroughness of each of my visits and my surgical procedures. I felt like I was in the best hands, and if I had any concerns, they would have been addressed immediately. His staff is excellent and very efficient. He is very thorough and caring and I highly recommend this practice to anybody looking.

My husband has been a satisfied patient of Dr. Levitt for his glaucoma and cataract surgery. When it was time for my cataracts to be dealt with, I was happy to know that my doctor was the best. My surgery was more difficult because of previous RK eye surgery, but the results are amazing, 20/20! I felt very well cared for by Dr. Levitt and his staff.

Dr. Michael Levitt is one of Tampa's gems. In addition to the doctor being an outstanding ophthalmologist, the entire office staff is friendly, caring and efficient. Special thanks to the Office Manager, Grisel, for going above and beyond during my recent emergency situation. Some of the reviews indicate that he rushed them through their appointment. He is extremely efficient and popular and provides plenty of time to diagnose and help with your needs, but I recommend you're efficient in your questions. Strong recommendation.

Overbooked on every visit. Charges a fee if I have to miss an appointment but doesn't offer anything for waiting there for 3 hours.And when he does come in after the exam, it's quick with not a lot of effort or thought.

Overbooks and spends about three minutes with you before rushing you out.

I very highly recommend Dr. Michael Levitt. He is kind and competent. I had very successful mono vision cataract surgery from him after being told by another ophthalmologist in our area that I was not a candidate due to dry eye. I can now read and see distance with out glasses after 30 years which is wonderful! After having a terrible eye lid surgery outcome (so much lid taken off I could not close my eye) from another local ophthalmologist I was very fearful of cataract surgery. Dr. Kwitko, the surgeon who corrected my eyelid after 6 surgeries and a graft and who I trust completely, referred me to Dr Levitt. I was also very impressed with Dr Levitt’s staff. They are kind, efficient and were very accommodating with appointments as I live a distance away. You will be in excellent hands with Dr. Levitt!

I was initially referred to Dr. Levitt by my retina specialist. Dr. Levitt performed a cataract surgery on my left eye in 2018 and then a YAG surgery on that same eye in 2019. He recently performed a cataract surgery on my right in 2022 and my eyesight has improved dramatically. I had 25/20 vision when I first visited Dr. Levitt and today I have 20/20. Yes I am very happy with the results of these procedures and I strongly recommend Dr. Levitt to anyone who has vision issues.

This Dr is the best gave me the most comprehensive eye exam I have ever had. He also explains everything to you and the staff is amazing

One of his assistants seems to not be registered with the State of Florida to perform the various duties that require certification. She usually is by the doctor's side while performing eye surgery and she has actually touched eyes and demonstrated meds. CAUTION to anyone considering this outfit for ophthalmology issues. Family member has lost visual clarity under his and his assistant's care.

After many years of receiving eye care in Tampa & other cities I found myself unable to find a doctor who would give any other options to me other than surgery. Dr. Levitt exudes the level of patience and confidence needed for me to sufficiently trust in his process. My external eye issues that kept me virtually home bound for over a year and never addressed by the other doctors were completely healed in a few months! In doing so, this allowed adequate assessment of my internal eye issues to begin, then stabilze with his treatment plan to a non urgent status and continue to be managed without the need for surgery. He employs very professional, efficient and service oriented staff. My total in office time has never exceeded 90 minutes. I no longer have any anxiety associated with the future of my eye care thanks to Dr Levitt and his staff.

I am a 74 year old male and I have been to many DR'S. When you go to a DR. The Staff is the first contact. Although the whole staff is wonderful, I have one person I have been in contact with the most and here name is Natalia. Natalie is very kind and professional, she is a great asset to the office, like all the other staff is. DR. Levitt is a wonderful person that cares about his staff and patients.
