Superb Care from Dr Knudsen, Pre & Post Surgery
I recently underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair 2 torn tendons in my rotator cuff, and the care I received from Dr. Knudsen, his team, and the rest of the staff at NY Presbyterian Westchester was outstanding. His entire practice is organized, efficient, and thorough. From our very first meeting, I felt confident that he had my best interests and recovery outcome in mind. Dr. Knudsen takes a personalized approach to his care. He thoroughly explained all the options, precautions, and considerations during our initial consultation. On the day of surgery, Dr. Knudsen meticulously documented the procedure with photos of my shoulder and promptly shared them with my wife to reassure her that everything had gone smoothly. For anyone experiencing a shoulder issue, I strongly recommend consulting with Dr. Knudsen. Not only is he an expert in shoulder care, but he is also straightforward, considerate, and truly dedicated to his patients' well-being.

A doctor who cares
Dr. Knudsen saw me and referred me for an MRI. Upon receiving the scan, he suggested that I have surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff on my dominant side. I knew that I had been through this same painful situation just two years ago. Back then, I was examined by another great doctor, and since hydrotherapy was not available, I chose physical therapy rehab. Knowing that it was not my first rodeo when it came to sustaining injuries or setbacks, I believed that I would greatly benefit from physical therapy and make a complete recovery, as I had in the past. While Dr. Knudsen advised me and gave his honest opinion, I had already resigned to not having any surgery. Therefore, I pleasantly requested a physical therapy prescription, and a cortizone injection to help minimize the severe pain while tending to my daily agenda. I was ever so grateful that Dr. Knudsen agreed to both requests. We definitely need more doctors who are willing to work alongside their patients and give options.

Reverse shoulder replacement successful I recently
My recent visit was for an annual follow-up after reverse shoulder replacement surgery. Dr Knudson answered several questions and gave me very good suggestions on how to take care of some minor issues. I don't have any pain with my shoulder anymore and I have pretty good range of motion.

Knowledgeable AND nice!
Dr. Knudsen is smart but also caring and genuinely NICE. Surgeons aren’t known for their bedside manners but his is excellent. I feel like he really cares and doesn’t rush me into procedures I’m not ready for. He takes the time to communicate with my PT also, which is appreciated by us both! I highly recommend him.

My Hero!
I love Dr. Knudsen! He is the epitome of excellence in doctoring. He is skilled, he is kind, he is patient, he listens and explains the issue thoroughly, he offers options, he explains the risk vs. benefit of each. I had a two year old shoulder fracture. It was two years old because every doctor I saw said it couldn't be fixed. So I lived with it. Until I couldn't. The shoulder, which is a prosthesis, just separated and fell apart one day. Fortunately for me, I met Dr. Knudsen through the ER where I was treated. An auspicious day for me. He fixed it!! I am 10 weeks post-op now and I couldn't be more pleased with the result. He, and his team, are my heroes!
