Dr. Kheir was very thorough in explaining everything for my total hip replacement surgery. Everything went smoothly! He is very professional and knowledgeable.

I have been a patient at UofM for over 30 years. I’ve had many doctors, visits, and contacts in those years. Dr Kheir is the newest doctor I have had contact with. My appoint was for a total right knee replacement. The total process, even prior to the operation, was so well planned and executed. The 2 hour orientation was so helpful in giving the patient a complete understanding of what was going to happen, before and after the operation.Dr Kheir made sure that everything was properly in place before the operation. This doctor is so concerned about your complete satisfaction. I was completely satisfied from start to finish.His choice of a Physical Therapy Team was also exceptional.I’m currently planning on a left knee replacement with this wonderful team, headed by Dr Kheir.

Dr. Kheir is open and conversational, he takes time to discuss methods, outcomes, recovery and anything of concern prior to and after a procedure. His consultations are meaningful, not robotic and his staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I know first hand his robotic-assisted surgery skills are top-notch and I am thankful I drew him as my orthopedic surgeon.

Dr Kheir has an incredible bed side manner. He is extremely patient and explained the surgery in detail. He answered all my questions. He changed my life with this surgery. He and his staff are extremely courteous, friendly and very professional !! I highly recommend him to anyone in need of a new hip. I just had my one year check up and everything looked great. And, I feel great !!

Aside from his exceptional knowledge and proven success, he made a significant effort to insure I understood every aspect of my procedure. The level of care and compassion shown by him and his team were extraordinary, too- especially during the pre-op. Everyone involved was very positive and encouraging and was so much appreciated! My post-op visits were also worthwhile and convinced me that everything expected was accomplished. As a result, I have had a complete and life changing recovery and could not be happier.

The need for a hip replacement came on quickly and the rapid deterioration really surprised me. Dr. Kheir and his team made the process of accepting the state of my hip through surgery and my 12 week appointment after surgery incredible. Before my surgery, I couldn't walk 0.25 mile. 12 weeks later I'm walking 3-5 miles a day! I can't imagine this having gone better and the results are wonderful. Thank you Dr. Kheir & team!

Dr Kheir was the best surgeon I could have hoped for!! Unfortunately I had to have my hip that was done 10 years ago redone (it was not done at UofM)so I was very nervous about having a second surgery on the same hip...but Dr Kheir was so easy to talk with and I had total confidence in him, and his team. I would recommend him if you are in need of a hip replacement for sure!!

From the very beginning, I knew that I had waited to do a hip replacement until Dr. Kheir's name crossed my path, it was then that I knew I was getting the very best care I could get. The day of my surgery, I could not have asked for any better care from pre-op to recovery to post-op.. every single member of Dr. Kheir's team that day (and after) were nothing less than professional, personable, KIND, respectful, with an awesome sense of humor! That is very important when going under a 'knife' for anyone, I think! Many thanks to the ENTIRE team of nurses, anesthesiologists, doctors... all of them. I'd have to give them all 5 stars across the board, to be honest! He told me in the beginning that after 4 months, most people forget they had a hip replacement. I saw him yesterday for my 6 week follow-up... my mission was to impress him with my recovery... I must have done so, because he told me I was 'at 6 weeks where most are at 4 months'.. so mission accomplished. Many kudos to his team!!!

From the moment I arrived in the ED via HVA to my discharge with my new hip, I received the absolute best care. I want to thank the ED staff Dr. David Haida, Dr. Maia Dinsmore and the best nurse Autumn for their wonderful care. Orthopedic resident, Dr. Jonathan Weinerman set the bar for understanding and compassion in my plan of care. Dr. Michael Kheir and his first assistant Dr. Nicole Honey through their masterful skills have given me an active life back with my new hip. I really liked my anesthesiologist Dr. James Szocik who developed a plan A and B to safely anesthetize me. The anesthesiologist who followed through with his plan was great because I slept like a baby with minimal pain. The 5 A nurses and Internists were the best. My recovery was complicated by my age and they were on top of every complication. Thank you to Andre, Nicole, Carla, Bree, Jillian, Beth and especially Rob and Seth. The teamwork, skill and kindness show why Michigan (to use a cliche) is the best. Thanks.

it has been a year since Dr. Kheir partially replaced my knee. Everything about the process has been seamless and all the staff has been eager to help and incredibly nice. I have no knee pain and can now do whatever I want including hiking up and down mountains. Before the surgery I couldnt even go grocery shopping without extreme pain. dr Kheir is so kind and so good at explaining everything. He is a great surgeon with a wonderful bedside manner. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone thinking about knee surgery.k

I couldn't be happier or more thrilled with the outcome I've experienced. I am pain free and rarely have to think about the hip replacement Dr Kheir has effectively changed my life- immeasurably for the better! Highest compliments to an excpetional staff- one year later I still think of the kindness, confidence and compassion with which I was treated by everyone involved in the procedure. The X-ray looks perfect- everything is exactly how it should be and stands as a testament to Dr. Kheir's superior skill. I might as well mention that the scar itself is surprisingly small and barely noticeable. I'll say it again- I couldn't be happier with this entire experience from start to finish. I extend my highest recommendation to Dr. Kheir and his team for anyone considering joint replacement. You would be hard-pressed to find a nicer man in whom to put your faith and trust.

Dr Kheir did full Hip replacement on both of my hips, him and his team did an amazing job! They have been amazing with quick responses to all the questions I had before and after surgery.

Dr. Kheir performed an amazing Partial Knee Replacement for me and I couldn’t be happier with the result. The surgical team and office staff are all top-notch, caring people! I would give 10 stars, if available!Heartfelt thanks to all!

Dr. Michael Kheir and his team at Michigan Medicine are, in a word, excellent! From the initial visit with the PA, the office staff, and the surgical team I was treated with respect and personal care. I had gone through knee joint injections for a couple years to alleviate the pain, but it got to the point where I couldn’t walk a hundred yards without debilitating pain. We’ll, here I am at four months after a partial knee replacement, which I totally recommend if you qualify, and I’m pain free and able to play golf, walk and bike for exercise, and dance at my niece’s wedding with no concerns and no pain. I’m 71 years old and haven’t been this able in years. I worked hard at physical therapy and continue to exercise to strengthen my knee. I recommend Dr. Kheir without hesitation. He is highly capable, communicative, and personable. You will be fortunate to have him and his team for your orthopedic surgery!

Dr. Kheir did my total knee replacement surgery and he was amazing. The surgery went great and recovery was great as well. Very happy with his care and the results of the surgery. Definitely recommend him.

I had a total hip replacement with Dr. Kheir and his team. They were amazing! Dr. Kheir is very knowledgeable, and skilled. He takes time with his patients. His bedside manner is excellent. Natalie his PA is also just great. The entire team during the actual operation in the hospital were wonderful! My total hip replacement has been a complete success thanks to this team! I had total Right knee surgery with Dr. Kheir on July 7, 2023. This was my second total knee surgery. The left one was done at Henry Ford Hospital. It was a disaster. I was in pain and in therapy for 2 years and on pain meds for a year and a half.Dr Kheir did my right knee at University of Michigan Hospital. I started therapy on day three. I was at 110 degrees at two weeks., I was off all pain medication at two weeks. Yes, the first two weeks are rough. You take your pain medication faithfully, you do your therapy and you do a lot of ice to keep the swelling down. Once you get the stitches out you’ll feel 100 percent better. I have a nickel allergy, and Dr. Kheir took the time to research the prosthetics to see which one was the best for me. Dr. Kheir, has an awesome personality. he is compassionate, caring, and will answer all your questions thoroughly. His bedside manner is outstanding. Dr. Kheir will be the only surgeon I use if needed in the future he is awesome!

From diagnosis to treatment advice,then the following surgery was a year ago this week.I can't say enough about Dr Kheirs professional pre,post and most importantly the surgery that allowed me to exceed expectations every step.

I waited way past when I needed a new knee and now wish I’d done it sooner because everything went so well with Dr Kheir and his team. Just absolutely wonderful. Great communication, extremely informative and answered all my questions without complaint. Supportive and encouraging, just a fantastic experience. When it’s time for my other knee, I know exactly where I’m going.
