Dr. Michael Hood, MD

I fell and broke my hip and Dr Hood repaired it. He and his staff were friendly and took good care of me. My hip healed up perfectly and I don't have any pain from the break. I recommend him without reservation.

Dr. Hood was the orthopedist assigned to me at St. Francis after I had a seizure. Dr. Hood had to be hounded to do the orthopedic consult ordered by the ED. It was almost 48 hours before he did the consult. Dr. Hood did not follow the radiologist notes to have a CT scan done, did not physically examine my shoulder and as a result missed that my shoulder was dislocated. I’ve since learned that it is common for seizures to result in a dislocated shoulder. The first question my regular orthopedist asked at my follow up visit was “did they mention to you anything about your shoulder being dislocated?”. It was dislocated and because of Dr. Hood’s incompetence, I was in a sling for 7 weeks before my shoulder replacement surgery and 7 weeks after due to the amount of damage. The only upside is that had Dr. Hood did not due my replacement surgery. Given his poor diagnostic skills, I wouldn’t want him to be my surgeon.

Love Dr. Hoods clinic. He and his staff are pleasant, helpful and very kind. Willing to listen and answer your concerns. Went to exam room promptly and staff and Dr. arrived in a timely manner. We are very fortunate to have this service.

Dr. Hood performed my total knee replacement he was very informative before the operation and he did a great job. Dr. Hood is a excellent surgeon but you must be dedicated to the rehabilitation or you will not be successful in your recovery. I am doing great 5 month later.

I was back to full duty at work sooner than expected after rotator cuff surgery. Recovery was less painful better than I was expecting. I would definitely recommend Dr. Hood.

Dr. Hood replaced my dad's hip in an emergency situation. I was weary about 'turning' my dad over to a doctor that I didn't know. When I met Dr. Hood, he was very pleasant, took the time to answer ALL my questions and reassured me that my dad would be ok. I would highly recommend Dr. Hood.
