Dr. Michael Hinckley, MD

In February 2025, Dr. Michael Hinckley, dermatologist and Mohs surgeon, performed Mohs surgery on basal cell carcinoma on my nose and performed a local flap reconstruction. Following the surgery, I experienced swelling, bruising, right eye was swollen shut, and the right nostril collapsed (nasal valve collapse).At the 1 week followup appointment, Dr. Hinckley said pressure from the flap collapsed the nasal valve. Improper flap reconstruction can cause nasal valve collapse. Surgeons should be aware of this complication and implement techniques to prevent nasal valve collapse. Prevention is possible in many cases. I had nasal congestion and difficulty breathing following the Mohs surgery. When I tried to question Dr. Hinckley about why the nasal valve collapsed, he told me he had other patients waiting and left the room. I will be going to an ENT doctor who specializes in plastic surgery to receive nasal valve reconstruction surgery.

I was really impressed with the recommendation I had received from my Dermatologist to meet with Dr Hinckley for my mohs surgery. I was very nervous for the surgery but he helped to calm my concerns. His staff was also very attentive in making everything comfortable for me. I was impressed after my surgery that I had received a text checking in with me. What kind of Doctor has ever done that before? I was able to chat and send pictures to eliminate my concerns with my swelling and scarring. I highly recommend Dr Hinckley for any mohs surgery! I was very impressed!

I was very comfortable!

Everything went exactly as they said it would except they were faster than I expected. I think they are very efficient. Dr. Hinckley is very knowledgeable and friendly. His staff is very helpful and considerate. They took very good care of me and his wife makes delicious cookies.

My only issue was with the recommendation of using Hillcrest Pharmacy. The PA insisted that was best and cheapest option for the prescription instead of using my insurance option. I told him to use my insurance and sure enough it was half the price. I guess what difference does it make which pharmacy to use unless there is an incentive to use Hillcrest.

Had biopsy taken

Dr Hinckley and his staff were amazing. They made sure I was comfortable and updated throughout the entire procedure. It turned out we were there all day and Dr Hinckley was very thorough about making sure it was done right. I would recommend him to others. I really appreciated that he texted me that night to see how I was doing

Went in last year for my checkup. I asked about a growth on my back and was told it would be cosmetic and he could give me the code for my insurance to see if they would cover it. went to different doctor and now having my second surgery to have my cosmetic cancer removed.

Dr. Hinckley is such a good doctor and he has a great team. He’s knowledgeable, inclusive and is experienced. His methods are effective and pain free and I never feel anxious when procedures become necessary. He’s just the best!

He’s pretty thorough

We were in on time no waiting at all. Treated us very nicely and good. I would recommend him to anyone.
