The current state of the medical profession
I have been treated by Dr Fishman for about a year. He consistently told me the source of my pain originated from my back. Interestingly, the pain was always felt in my left groin. Dr Fishman did epidural steroid injections without any relief. At my last visit he recommended a neuro stim. Recently I cannot make any appointments with him as I am told “he’s left the practice”. So I decided to make an appointment with a well respected spinal neurosurgeon. I just couldn’t come to believe that Dr Fishman, who is known for thinking outside the box, was on target with the right diagnosis. The spinal neurosurgeon saw me yesterday. He said my spine is that of a 73 year old woman. He did a thorough exam & told me my spine is Not the source of the problem. He said I have nerve entrapment syndrome & that is why none of Fishman’s treatments worked. So I am on another path for pain relief. I apparently have ilioinguinal nerve entrapment & would benefit from nerve ablation. oh well

Changed my life, but now I’m concerned
I have a rare disorder and I have been with Fishman for over 5 years at this point and had numerous procedures to try to improve my pain. He was up against something very few out there understand, yet he excels at thinking outside the box. Lately I have noticed and been told that he is no longer where I was seeing him and given no guidance other than to see X doctor in his place. When you’re messing with your spine, you don’t keep a specialist for so long and then just shift to some random guy. I am concerned about what has been going on with his own health and wish people would stop posting negative stuff about him in reviews when I know he has had his own medical issue and I don’t know how much that has to do with this. The Dr. Fishman I saw up until now was, yes, somewhat “full of himself” but I’ve worked in medical for years and never met a great surgeon who doesn’t have the same personality characteristics. Let’s wait to judge. I am just praying he is okay.

Even as a college professor of anatomy & physiology, being a lifelong bodybuilder and powerlifter and owning a successful business helping thousands attain a higher level of health, fitness and rehabilitation has not helped me find out what is causing long term myofascial neck pain even after many visits to over a dozen specialty doctors which included orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, neurosurgeons, DO’s, and chiropractors. Upon my first visit to Dr. Fishman, I was impressed (which takes a lot given my background!) with how he utilizes the fullest extent of his medical knowledge and training while exhibiting the highest degree of professionalism in treating his patients. I feel Dr. Fishman's excellent communication skills, both in listening and explaining plausible causes are instrumental in allowing me to understand the scope of my neck pain and as evidenced by my first procedure - he is close to solving the mystery of the root of my pain. He is an exemplary physician.

I found you guys on the internet. This is my first time visit with Dr. Fishman. I have seen other doctors before coming here and I wanted to get another opinion before I got a procedure done. Dr. Fishman actually showed me all the steps that would be done. That made me feel very comfortable with getting this procedure done.

I came in for an appointment with my husband, the entire staff from check in to physician check out was much more than compassionate to my husband. During his visit his questions were answered truthfully. My husband has been in pain for awhile and he left his appointment feeling comfortable with what he and Dr. Fishman had discussed.

I found this group online. Everything has been great, from coming in here and everything about it. Dr. Fishman treats me with respect. He listens to me and is improving my health. My only feedback is the forms were a bit confusing. But other than that the scheduling has been really great especially with how busy they are!

My experience here has been extremely positive, this office is effective an Dr. Fishman listens. Nothing for them to improve on, just keep being honest! Most definitely would refer you guys, I actually already have. My sister will be coming here shortly! I'm treated with respect here and the issues I'm having Dr. Fishman has made many attempts to help me rather than giving up on me.
