Dr. Michael Elist, MD

I waited over 60 minutes for my initial visit. The Dr. was nice, professional and answered my questions. I think the staff needs more training and professionalism. Waiting for over an hour to be seen (even got there 10 minutes early to fill out paperwork) and then waited again to checkout and make a follow up appointment was ALL ON ME, I was never told or contacted by the staff to do so. Pretty unprofessional in my opinion.

First visit was today and not happy the doctor was in the room all of about one maybe twoMinutes looked at me and sent me on my way didn’t discuss nothing really but what medication I’ve taken left me more confused than anything I haven’t had my rheumatoid arthritis treated in over a year now I have to wait another two months before I see this guy again so I walk out to the front desk which the front desk is nothing but Chaos I had to ask was I done or what also had to ask for a records release which they had no clue what that was I looked at the front desk person like are you serious I mean the whole vibe in this office is like no one wants to be there everyone is really hateful from check in to check out their whole process is terrible. No bedside manner at all I wouldn’t recommend

Office is rude, NP has zero professionalism, I am a healthcare provider and never had any experience like, Medications Prior authorizations take 2 months, and they dont take responsibility for anything, Dr elist doesnt even bother to visit the patient not even for the first time. STAAAAAYYY AWAAAAAYYYY

Front desk staff may unconsciously assume that a patient with a disability is less capable or knowledgeable than a patient without a disability and may require an ASL interpreter. That day, 1/4/2024, at around 3:30 pm, happened to me when I had a doctor's appointment. The front desk supervisor asked me to reschedule my appointment with my doctor, assuming I might need help communicating in English with them. They asked me to bring my interpreters for the rescheduled appointments with my doctor and did not offer me any choice to determine whether I needed an ASL interpreter.My boyfriend became uncomfortable witnessing this and suggested I cancel their appointment. I wish them a good year in 2024 and left.

Since my rheumatologist retired I was transferred to Dr. Elist in Boyle Heights and I am happy with him very much. He helps me a lot with my diseases

After having been on multiple medications that did not work. Dr. Elist worked with med and was patient. He tried a newly approved medication that finally I have had a great response to. Hes a great doctor, hes busy but once your a patient he takes care of you

I agree with others here he's the best doctor in my network and accepts my insurance which a lot of the rheums don't. He's been the most helpful of my physicians. Adrine the assistant also is great

A physicians physician. I think he’s a professor of medicine. Treated me excellent overall. Office staff is a bit shaky but what do expect it’s hard to find good help I guess

Dr. Michael Elist has been my rheumy for some time now. I think he’s quietly one of the best at his specialty without all the glitz and glamour. I use to see rheumatologists in Beverly Hills who were not even close to being as caring and good as him. He knows his stuff. His office is pretty busy and the phone system is a little whacky but he’s a great doc and worth it. Specially considering he takes my insurance which most other specialists won’t.

Doctor listened to me, checked labs I have been wanting to check forever and found that I do have an immune related arthritis. Told my PMD to refer me im so happy I did. His team is great

Dr. Elist is a good doctor!! Those are hard to find. He’s communicative and listens to you. He helped me go from 3 to 10 health wise!

Found a condition that I had been complaining about to other doctors for 2years! He found it on the first visit with a series of questions and simple exam.
