Dr. Michael Cowart, MD

I would NOT recommend Dr. Cowart. After delivering my baby, I was in the hospital wondering if he was going to come and check on me in the next 2 days. None of the nurses knew and he had once told me if I ever needed anything, to call him on his cell. I called him because I did not know if I could be discharged without him coming to check on me. He answered incredibly rudely and told me it was rude for me to call him because I don't know his schedule and that he would come in WHEN he came in. I cried and left it alone. When he arrived, he came in, and our conversation was horrible. He was rude, immature, acted like he cared 0% about me, and left my crying in the room. He sarcastically asked what I would do since I seemed to 'know everything'. It was horrible. My husband and I were STUNNED. He is an odd man who can make you feel uncomfortable or stupid if you ask too many questions. And he can flip the switch from 'supportive' to incredibly insulting. find another doc. not worth it.

Dr. Michael Cowart is abrasive, aggressive and degrading. He downplayed my questions and concerns regarding mine and my baby’s health. I had some symptoms that were concerning to me and Dr Cowart referred me out to a neurologist, ophthalmologist, and for a chest Xray/EKG without any further questions. When I questioned his reasoning behind some of his referrals, he gave minimal explanation for office visits/tests that would’ve cost me hundreds of dollars if not more. I went to see Dr. Cowart again after my initial urine tests came back as I had more concerns before scheduling all of the other appointments and he condescendingly asked me if the symptoms I was there to talk with him about “seemed normal to me”. Obviously they didn’t seem normal or I wouldn’t have made an appointment or asked about them in the first place. As our conversation progressed and I continued to express my concerns, Dr Cowart responded to everything I said with pointless and combative questions that provided no purpose or meaningful insight. When I told him that he was belittling me and I was in his office to receive answers and not to be asked rhetorical questions, he sarcastically said things like “I’m a physician and a surgeon but you seem to think you know more than me” and “well doctor… I’m sorry I can’t help you”. Dr. Cowart abused his position of power as a doctor to maliciously intimidate, taunt, and ridicule me because he didn’t appreciate the fact that I was questioning him and why he insisted on responding to everything I said with unnecessarily rude questions in a time when I was scared that something could be wrong with me and my unborn child. I don’t usually leave negative reviews but this review is warranted as I have never been treated with such disrespect. I blindly scheduled an appointment with Dr. Cowart without reading any reviews. After taking the time to look at other patient reviews I am appalled at how many people had a similar experience. I would NEVER recommend this man to anyone I know… especially if they are navigating the scary, exhausting, complicated experience of growing a child.

Rude and staff is the same. Stay away.

Today was my first visit and everybody was very friendly . Doctor Cowart was very kind, he made me feel comfortable, he is the best.

My cousin referred me to Dr. Cowart 23 years ago, after I was uncomfortable with my previous OBGYN. He and his staff have always been great and truly care about you and your health. Both of my daughters have him as their doctor, and he has taken excellent care of them as well. I would recommend him to anyone who may be nervous about seeing an OBGYN, or simply want a doctor who really listens to your concerns. I trust him with my family's care completely.

After giving birth, through an elective induction that he said was perfectly fine to do, I almost died from blood loss. At my follow up appointment, he told me "the nurses were calling your time of death". I guess he thought that was funny because he was chuckling as he said it. I didn't think so. He was also unable to correctly identify a problem I came to him with. His wait times are also extremely long. Wish I had never used him as a doctor.

Do not recommend to anyone!! Majority of the staff is rude! Very long wait times & they will rip you off!

Dr. Cowart is the best doctor I love his personality made me feel safe in his hand. He care about his patience and there well being I would highly recommend him to every woman needing a OBGYN...

I would and I have recommend friends and others to Dr Cowart !! I have seen Dr Cowart for 28 years !! Would not go anywhere else ! He is not only my Dr. He has become family .. Stacy his nurse is the Best ever!!! She is always on top of everything !!! They make you feel special each and Every time you go in !!! ??

Dr. Cowart is the best doctor around in terms of care and taking care of his patients. He's very personable and has a knack for making you feel like you are the most important person in the world.. HOWEVER, the front desk staff.. they need some training or something. They can't seem to get prescriptions to the pharmacy in fewer than 4 calls to them and a lot of back and forth. Very frustrating.
