Nightmare
My mother was sent here from Oakridge TN. She was brought here because she had a severe brain bleed and had had a stroke at home. In all my experiences with dealing with doctors Dr. Brunson was by fair the most insensitive and least caring doctor. We were told right from the beginning that there was nothing they could do for her before they ever even tried to save her life. To be honest it came off to us as if this hospital was more worried about her organs because she was a donor than her health. After we finally got them to do the reaction testing to see if there were any chances of survival we trusted his words and let them start the process. While waiting for a transport that took a day rude Dr. Brunson proceeded to come into the room and rudely ask the nurse the status. My siblings and I don't live here so we had no options in this situation but I would not recommend anyone ever bringing there family member here to be treated. This man should not be a doctor.

Hi, my name is Lacrecia H, I was hospitalized during the pandemic in 2021. I was admitted to the 7 floor at Fortsanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville Tennessee. I was assigned to Dr. Micheal Brunson. I was diagnosed with Covid pneumonia. Dr. Brunson treated me for my illness. The time that I spent there in my room. He came and checked on me every day. He also kept my hopes up for living, Telling me that I would be a success story. I was there from August 1 till the 10th of 2021. Dr. Michael Brunson I never have had the chance to say thank you. So I would like to say Thank you, thank you and thank you again. For taking such good care of me while I was in your care in the hospital. May God continue to bless you and keep you.

He is the most cruel, insensitive, unkind doctor that i have ever come across. Came to ICU room telling me that "in all the years i've been practicing no one your fathers age or condition has ever went home" the nurse in the room was horrified with his behavior and in tears. he wanted me just to "make him comfortable" i told him my daddy would want to fight and that's what we were going do. his last words to me were "don't you go tell people what i said" … tried to get my brother to give up on dad too, didn't work with him either … today my 80 dad is home with us in good health. Guess he broke Dr Brunson record … Always advocate for you loved ones, just because a doctor says it doesn't always make it true.

I've worked with many skilled physicians, but Dr. Brunson rises above many because of not only his skill, but his down-to-earth and compassionate manner. He takes the time (whenever possible) to explain situations thoroughly and I've even seen him sit with the mother of a dying son when no one else was there for her and there was nothing left that we could do. Clinically excellent and with more heart than you usually get to see from a doctor. Few may be as good, but none better.

Obnoxious and intimidating to family of an elderly patient with dementia. Prescribed opiates when requested Not to by family. Refused to perform a common procedure that would have allowed patient a second chance to live. Refused to consult with patient's pulmonologist when requested by family. Nightmare experience with this doctor! Perhaps he deserves the glowing reports listed on this site, but our experiences reflect a decidedly dark side.

Dr Brunson has some of the best bedside manner I have seen in a long time. He asks many times is there any questions you have for me, is there anything I can do for you, and he explains what is happening on a normal person level.
