former patient here, dr brown prescribed me klonapin when i was around 13. klonapin is a benzodiazepine (ex- xanax) which is very addictive and i didn’t know any better because i was a child and started heavily abusing it. glad to see there are others who had a good experience but i did not. if you’re taking a younger teenager here just pay attention to what he’s prescribing, i wish i could’ve avoided the two years of dependency and the month long of abusing this drug before i was able to get the needed help. idk why i’m writing this 5+ years later but if i can prevent this from happening to even one other person it’s worth it. i’m definitely not against medication for young teenagers, but i’ve had several other psychiatrists say that they would never prescribe a 13 year old a benzodiazepine

I've been a patient of his for 13 years and he provides excellent care. It's a shame people would rate him with one star because they had to "wait too long" and other trivial events that happens in every doctor's office.

I've been going to Dr. M David Brown, MD for years now. I met him at a very low point in my life and he stuck in there with me until we found the right medications to make me feel better. Dr. Brown has a great since of humor an always makes you feel safe and comfortable when your in his presence. He will do whatever it takes to take care of his patients. His staff will even work with you when you don't have insurance. I give Dr. M David Brown and Staff A+++. Always will recommend.

My first appointment with Dr. Brown I was late exactly 5 minutes. I was informed that b/c I was late he took a patient ahead of me. I waited nearly an hour. When I saw him I mentioned the wait. I said I did not care for the fact that I waited an hour because I was 5 minutes late and shot back aggressively, "then be on time." I felt he was defensive & unprofessional. He listened to my issues and took time to do so, however I feel he does not have my mental health well-being and good in mind.

Dr. Brown is a kind man. He cares about his patients and has extensive knowledge in human psychiatry. He is all ears, so dont expect him to ask you hundreds of questions. He does his best in prescribing his patients with what "he" believes is best for them.

Dr. Brown spends less than 5 minutes with his patients. As a patient who suffers with depression and suicidal thoughts, he never asked me in all of my visits if I was feeling suicidal even though he knew about past attempts. His prescribing practices are alarming. At one point he prescribed me three different benzos at the same time, this kind of over prescribing is what leads to addiction. Whenever he prescribed a new medication he would not take the time to explain what it was or side effects.
