Dr. Michael Arnold, MD

I've seen Dr. Arnold a few times and I'm seeing him again in a few weeks. He is terrific, listens carefully to my concerns with compassion and is polite and professional. I highly recommend Dr. Arnold. It's obvious that he truly cares for his patients!-Suzanne (Charlottesville, Va )

Dr. Arnold is patient, compassionate, gentle, and thorough. I faced many problems during my pregnancy and he was thorough in gaining an understanding of what was going on and was so clear in helping me understand my options! I truly felt heard and supported the entire time. He is my favorite doctor at Jeff OB because of his patience and kindness! He also has helped keep me positive and optimistic in some darker times.

I've had no concerns with any of the other doctors I've met throughout my pregnancy at Jefferson OB until I met Dr. Arnold. Everyone including the nurses has been very friendly with the exception of Dr. Arnold. He did not make me feel like he really cared about myself or his job. He seems to KNOW his job well enough, at least from a textbook standpoint, but very bad bedside manner. He acted arrogant, bored, and does not have a gentle touch. I hope he is not on call when I deliver.

Dr. Arnold is the best! He is very kind, a wonderful listener, caring, knowledgeable, and compassionate. I could not have asked for a better doctor. Unfortunately I had a miscarriage and he was very professional and sympathetic. I can’t wait to see him again once we try for another baby in a few months. Thank you so much, Dr. Arnold.

Dr. Arnold gave me an unforgettable delivery experience. He was gentle and guided me through the delivery with ease. After I birthed my son's shoulders and arms Dr. Arnold invited me to reach down and pull my son out allowing me to be the first person to hold my newborn baby. The whole delivery was magical. My parents were in the room as well and my dad said that Dr. Arnold was just a master at his job. One of the nurses in the hours leading up to the delivery was a real pain though.

I really like him. I actually love all the doctors at Jeff Ob but he always makes me feel good. He's a good listener. He puts my worries at ease probably more than any of the other doctors. He's really relaxed and I appreciate that. Side note, sometimes you feel like you are waiting forever to see him tho. I don't think it's ever taken less than 45 minutes.

I ended up seeing Dr Arnold the morning my water broke. To preface this, I have had really wonderful experiences with all of the other doctors in this practice (with the exception of Dr Heider). I found Arnold to be rough, both in touch and bedside manner. There was zero excitement, congratulations, or compassion from him or his nurse (I LOVE all the other nurses!). I left feeling at least thankful that a) I likely never had to see him again and b) he wouldn't be on cal to deliver my baby.

Dr Arnold has horrific bedside manner. He may be adept at dealing with pregnancy when it goes well, but his ability to counsel me through a miscarriage and next steps was negligent at best. He provided no detail on what to do next after learning that my pregnancy was not viable. I had to prompt him and ask questions. He made me feel like an idiot at a time when I was emotionally and physically devastated.
