Refused an MRI on huge tear in my knee miniscus. Even though MAYO Clinic advised ER care for this severe injury, which requires an MRI. He only did an x-ray. Told me it wasn't broken . Very large tears can fall off into the knee causing addition surgery. He sent me packing without knowing how severe it was or if it required emergency surgery or not. Sure hope I don't end up even more injured while I wait a month for primary care. I am a current MAYO patient with excellent insurance. He acted like "how dare you come to ER". I went because the MAYO website, his employer, told me to go to ER specifically because a large tear can require immediate surgery. He sent me off without ever checking the tear via MRI . I am five days from injury and still cannot stand, bend or walk on the knee. The tear must be massive, I hope it doesn't become any worse before I can get care.
