Dr. Mia Wright, MD

Dr. Wright is the only OBGYN I’ll ever go to. She’s friendly, and talks you through what she’s doing or about to do which makes me feel better at every appointment, since I sometimes get nervous. I highly recommend her.

I had my first annual visit with Dr. wright, she was on the point, respectful, informative, answer my questions and help me understand my options. Thanks!

I scheduled an appt with Dr. Wright because I found out I was pregnant. My partner & I had been trying for a while so this was a huge accomplishment & an overjoying exciting time for us. Unfortunately, Dr. Wright’s attitude & bedside manner was very poor. When I told her I took 5 tests over the course of the last few days to confirm she asked me why I would take so many? I told her because I wanted to make sure because I was in disbelief! She responded with “well, I guess I know your personality type”. I then proceeded to ask her if I would need a blood test and she told me “you already took 5 tests, why would you think you need a blood test?”. Then as I was leaving she told me “Well, I’m not going to congratulate you because it’s just too early So I’ll see you at your next appointment”. She dampened my spirits to say the least. I walked in feeling confident and left feeling defeated. I wouldn’t want that energy guiding me through my pregnant. I will definitely be going elsewhere.

There are doctors and then there is Dr Mia Wright at Westmed Medical Group. Not only does the staff make you feel comfortable immediately after walking into the medical group, the doctor's approach to a patient needs is extraordinary. You can immediately detect Dr.Wright's delicate approach toward a patient the minute the doctor starts talking to you.Dr.Wrights caring and nurturing and her detailed explanations does not stop when you leave her office. The doctor's immediate response to questions the I may after my visit get answered on a timely manner. I have known Dr.Wright for many years and with each of my visits my experience has been very pleasant.I could not have found a better doctor with such unique professional and caring mannerism.

Dr. Wright failed to review my visit notes from the high risk doctor prior to seeing me on the same day of week 38. On week 39, the day before my scheduled visit, Wright calls me to come in the following morning to be induced without any prior discussions. My water ended up breaking instead. I was in labor for 4 hours before she ever came to my room. She never mentioned the possibility that the baby was facing the wrong way. Instead, I was given pitocin and twilight pain killer through IV. After 18 hours of labor and 3 forced upon her check in visits by the doctor I was told I needed a c section. I waivered because my body had begun to shut down. I was not scanned, no one checked the baby’s position and both me and my child ended up with a fever and dropping heart rates. Dr. Wright was inattentive, not informative nor communicative.

Overheard her talking to the staff about how many times I came to the office. Very disturbing when a doctor actually discouraged you from making sure you everything is ok with your body.

I generally see another OB in the group that Dr. Wright is a part of however, because there is a possibility that your OB won't be on call when you go into labor i decided I should probably meet the rest of the Drs in the group at least once. Dr Wright was very short with me during our visits, lacked bedside manor and completely forgot to mention to me an issue with my baby that would have possibly prevented me from having a vaginal birth. She thought it was the 1st time we met at every appt

I did not have a good experience with Dr. Wright. She was fine for annual check-ups, but when I had a serious issue I realized that she was not the right doctor for me. I always waited an hour minimum to see her, she was very difficult to make appointments with, she was rude, short and very unhelpful. I finally decided to see someone else and come to find out she had misdiagnosed me. I am shocked to see she has such high reviews here. I would not recommend.

Very thorough! Makes me feel relaxed! Been going to her for years!
